What are our chances of picking this lad up?

He plays the position where we lack genuine depth, is he likely to attract attention from other clubs with his good form at Casey?

I want him as a back up Full Back, at 192cm and fairly athletic he can play on a lot of powerful FF's

If we do get him, what draft pick would he still be available at? If he was available at pick 40 would you pick him up or would it be a smokey pick only in the 70's?

Also, is he relation to SOS?

How old is he? Why has he been overlooked thus far? Does he have the tools to make it at AFL level?

These, and more/other questions need to be answered before we can really form an opinion on him !!

he is 20, was overlooked in 06 and he nearly gave up on his dream but he has come back very well so far and has held some other AFL listed players very well...

i like the look of him, at 192cm is a good height for a FB- Max is 191cm.

No Jill is right. He is a VFL player and shouldnt be considered but he plays for Scorps so lets draft him.

F***, who cares if he turns out to be a dud at AFL, we've wasted that many picks Im sure another one won't matter.

Take him like 4th of 5th round.

Why. Have you seen him play. A mate of mine is a good fullback lets get him. Only for a 4th or 5th rounder who cares.

Good on him, I'll tell Luke Beveridge next training to tell his dad to have a look at the bloke.

Thanks for the heads up.

one of the best defenders in the VFl, is only 20, is getting better and has been awesome in combo with wall....

been better then some of our rookies, but hell he's a VFL player, jill has spoken....

personally I think that talls and rucks take longer to develop and silvagni would be a beauty to rookie list at the least. But don't be suprised if someone pinches him late in the national draft.

In fact you know who he reminds me of when watching the crows tonight, bassat. Not the most skilled by foot, but reads the play well, spoils and marks very well and is getting better and better.

Develop him along with gilbert as our future backline talls.

Miles was a WAFL player - now he's on the Saints rookie list. SD Thompson and Shane Valenti were VFL listed last year, now they're on AFL lists. Matt Egan, Matt Stokes, Sam Mitchell and Simon Taylor were all VFL listed players before being drafted. I'm not saying Silvagni or Wall are at the level of these guys, but you can't rule a guy out just because he's mature age and playing at a lower level.

Since we're going to have some rookie spots open anyway, I can't see the problem with rewarding Sivagni or Wall with a spot. After 70-80 draft picks 5-10 PSD picks and bunch of rookie picks, there isn't going to be a lot of talent left. At worst, we take a good VFL defender to Sandy and send the message to the VFL guys that if you perform, you could get a shot.

I'm not saying take him but just because he wasn't drafted doesn't mean

he wouldn't make a good honest defender. Recruiters often get it wrong,

look at Clint Jones 18 months on an Afl list has improved him in a lot of

aspects - skills improving, decision making getting better.

I don't think you can write someone off because they missed out in the draft.

Andrew Thomphson- 24 before debut, played over 200 games

i also remember Troy Wilson, although only playing 2 good seasons, i think he was 28 before he was drafted

i only go by what i've read here but one benefit with Silvagni is that we need a kid that can start playing in the backline... NOW'ish

if u draft a new KPP ur looking at at least 2-3 seasons of devolpment (by playing in the VFL) and that means that Maxy, who is clearly past his best and should be winding down his career by playing on the opposition's #2 forward (shutting them out completely)... freeing Sam Fisher up, still has to be the main man.

I say definatly have a look at him, max IMO doesn't have much time left and his game style doesn't really suit that of the game of football nowdays. Gives away to many free kicks IMO

Yeah ... blokes who hold the opposition full forward to less then 2 goals almost every week, gathers 12 disposals a week....

And gives away 1 free kick a week, isn't really playing the 'game of football nowdays'

Would kill us at AFL level is a shocking kick of the football and would turn the ball over too much.

Like Rix an outstanding VFL level player.

Ok if you wish, but i am intitaled to my opinion. He does do his job, but he doesn't look comfortable.

But then again i have been his biggest critic right through his career and he is playing decent football at the moment. I'm still thinking of him a few years ago so i apologise.

Haven't seen Silvagni play, but a late round pick/rookie pick wouldn't be wasted on him.
