HAHA Marketing gone mad.

"Just heading down to Etihad to watch the footy"

"I thought you hated soccer"

WTF has this world come to ??? :x :x

Finally when they come up with a good corporate name for a stadium they sell out to an international business.

All these names are transitory.
Colonial /Telstradome /Sandsucker Airlines
Here today gone tomorrow.

That is why we should always refer to stadiums by their generic names.

Docklands, Princes Park, Kardinia Park etc.

What sense will people make of historical records referring to a game at Colonial Stadium, Optus Oval etc.?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Amen! I don't see a cent of their advertising dollar, so why should I b e referring to it by its corporate name and giving the company a whole lot of free advertising? No way!

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Unfortunately it's the way of the world nowadays and a way to stay abreast in the corporate world. I'm sure that some people have sold their a55e5 to make a few extra quid. Not sure for naming rights though.

But then again....

True, they can call it what they like. But so can I.

It's not a dome and never has been, it's got a flat roof.

Could be worse, in the US they've got stadiums with names like Pizza Hut Park, Dick's Sporting Goods Park and Red Bull Arena.

Never been a fan of naming rights for stadiums for the very reason that they change like the weather.

I think you'll find it actually is (fractionally) dome-shaped, even if the retractable parts seem quite flat.

Bloody ridiculous.

Linen House Oval or Moorabbin?
MC Labour Park or Princes Park?
Ausdoc Oval or Glenferrie Oval?
Skilled Stadium or Kardinia Park?

This is getting stupid.

Imagine if they renamed the MCG? Fair dinkum.

I dont care if its got a triangle shaped roof it was called the Dome when I saw us beat Brisbane in 03, it was called the Dome in 04 when we won the Pre Season Cup and it was the Dome when we pumped Essendon to secure 4th so it will always be the Dome for me

Imagine if the Minister for Environment (or whatever it is called) has his way, Peter Garrett. They could then call it "crome dome".

So does that mean we were the last team to win at the Telstra Dome?
