Appreciate it if someone could supply.

Thanks.

Bill Young was still there in '57.
Brian Gleeson won Brownlow and Neil Roberts was 3rd. Great effort.
Robert Harvey? Maybe not.

Surely there were more than 40.

We were fielding 2 teams of 18 plus 2 reserves each week.

If we only used 40 players player management was excellent and no injuries. Where is that medical staff now?

Sorry, I think that's just the list of guys who played firsts that year. I don't know where to find the entire list.

It might be, but it only won 8 from 18 in 1957, 7 from 18 in 1958 and 9 from 18 in 1959.

It was poorly coached.

Les Foote ruined the list by topping up in '55. How many rookies did he promote?

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

I know how Dal feels.

A request from a friend who has acquired a piece of memorabilia from that year. Its a pocket badge from a Saints blazer. She was trying to remember whose blazer her late uncle said it came from.

SO why have we been only picking on GT when we've had LF all this time???

Sounds like he's being slagged off for the same reasons....everything goes in circles doesn't it?

I hate to spoil this line of discussion, but I thought that it was Killigrew, rather than Foote, who was our coach towards the end of the 1950s.

However, I can't find a definitive list of our coaches on the web, so I'm not sure.

Whoever it was, they couldn't take what was obviously a list that could coach itself to the ultimate prize.

Which is why Killigrew was sacked, and Jeans was appointed to take them to the next level... which he did.

Spooky

Wow, look at all the father-son rule opportunites...

5 Cooke, Lindsay = Brett Cooke?

6 Dale, Alan = Neighbours actor?

10 Feehan, Geoff = Simon Meehan (typo on Simon's birth cert)?

17 Jeans, Allan = no son.. just Jeans (sorry, had to do it  )

22 McCooke, Milne = Stephen's step farther?

29 Murray, Bruce = Allan Murray?

30 O'Brien, Jim J. = Craig O'Brien?

31 Oswald, Lance = Lee HArvey O... who played 14 reserves games then moved to the USA...

33 Roberts, Neil = Michael Roberts?

36 Waldron, Bill = Brian Waldron?

38 Walton, Ray = Ben Walton?

39 Watt, Bob = grandfarther to Fergus... Had to change surname to avoid confusion at school. "what's your name, son?" "Watt" "I said, what's your name?' "Watt" "Are you some kind of smartarse boy?" "What?"

40 Young, Bill D. = George Young?

If any historians can clarify these, I'd be appreciative.
