Saints v Sydney game

Post: # 758643Post Fatgodzilla »

Myself and a couple of mates from the NSW bush have booked tickets for the Sydney game to see the Saints pluck the Swans. Looking for accomodation and would love to be where fellow Saints fans are.

2 things - is there any organised accomodation for Saints fans travelling in to the town or is everyone for themselves ?

Is there somewhere organised after the game where the Saints fans gather to celebrate or again, every man for themselves ?

We always stay in the cross, for the cultural reasons, and endless bars.

Friday we drink at Club Swans formerly the aussie rules bar. It's now the swans social club,so will be drinking deep in enemy territory

Saturday Rosehill gallops for a warm up

After the game there is an excellent function which is attended by the players and it takes place at The Forum in the Entertainment Quarter (aka Fox Studios) - right next door to the SCG. It is organised by Mark Ford who looks after the supporter group up here - I highly recommend it. I just hope we can have a win so that the crowd is a bit more ebullient than it was last year when we had slumped to another disappointing loss!

I remember the post match function after we beat the Swans in 2006. The match was brilliant, never been to a game where it was raining so hard! The crowd afterwards were really on a high. Singing the song time and time again until the players arrived. We also gave Goose a huge ovation for beating Hall (it was the first rematch since the 05 PF)...

Lets hope we can get up and that theres a large Saint presence.

also wanta erase memories of 2004 as well

:)

Be good if we can get away Moorabbin Wing going. Anyway I am very keen. Keep me posted.

The Harbor City Saints really know how to do a after match function that's for sure.

Club is doing tickets for interstate members but I don't know for Melbourne people who are traveling up to it.
Ill give the club a call tomorrow and ill post my results tomorrow.
Be nice to have saints supporters in a pocket somewhere yelling our guts out.

:)

Also will contact Harbour City Saints Supporter Group as well to see what the go is with pre match - post match function.

In some previous years (although not the last couple I don't think) the HCS actually arranged tickets in a block for people who booked into their pre-match function (which had been held at the Paddington RSL).

That seems to have slipped by the wayside.

Walski - would be nice to suggest it to them again when to talk to them today.

Just booked my flights up. Very keen to hear about any St Kilda block seat bookings for the game. According to Ticketek tickets go on sale next Tuesday.

Thanks for any info our Sydney Saints can provide!

Yes, Ticketek next week. Where would everyone like to go - back pocket (southern end) - anyone with any suggestions appreciated.

Will chase up Harbourside Saints man to see what his thoughts are.

I was one for Yabba's Hill but it's gone now................

Somewhere in the new bays of Victor Trumper stand would be my pick.

what you posters new to travelling to interstate venues will learn is that the club does not assist or promote in any way block ticketing arrangements for its Melb members - it's every man woman & child for himself unless you've got an in at the club.

I've been to all 3 matches on the road this year and many in the last few years incl finals and it's always the same. It would be nice if the club recognised the efforts we go to to support our boys interstate and arranged block bookings of seats for us to purchase so we don't get stuck in the middle of home town ferals. Just a thought.

I did put this idea on the Footy First website when they were looking to oust Butters and didn't even get a reply-maybe we need to 'ask Michael?'
