I'm going.

Really looking forward to it. Starting to get very excited again with the season getting closer and closer.

Glad they also had training on a day I can attend. Normally I am at work at miss it and can't actually remember the last time I got to see the boys train.

Hope to see a few of you there

We will be there (Sainter_Boy and I). We will have an 'Apron' clash jumper on a board waiting for it to be signed. I will have an 09 media cap on, glasses and a beard. Feel free to approach - I only bite a little.

I was there for about 50 minutes. Not much to report.

Walsh looks just about the most powerfully built player on the list.

Gardiner is on light duties, as is Eddy

One player was on crutches - not sure who it was, maybe Simpkin or Cahill is my best guess.

Will Johnson looks strongly built and is physically ready for the big stuff.

This is the tallest and fittest looking group of players I've seen at St Kilda.

All I saw in the time I was there were some handball drills, some boxing, and some stretching. Perhaps they kicked the ball around after I left.

Surely not...

How could this be so?

Tis true.

He has a very hard body, similar to Barry Hall. I mean powerfully built, not big, as in a big unit like Steven King.

I would suspect that when he bumps, guys will be hurt.

I went to have a look and the reports are right: Tommy Walsh is bloody huge. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to see him run. If he's quick (and can play the game obviously) he'll be a real handfull for opposition clubs. In my opinion he'll have a fair way to go though. Looked pretty robotic in the (pacey) handball drills - like when you were a kid and handballed with your whole body. Looked nimble on his feet though.

Gardiner did all the boxing/push up stuff in front of the terraces and looked really fit. They all look really fit as you'd expect this time of year.

About eight blokes up in the stands on the bikes.

Plenty of encouragement for Hutchy from the training staff.

Joey trained superbly. What a work ethic he's now developed.

Walsh is massive. Massive shoulders. He isn't as tall a I expected, but the dude has some big guns. Just hope he can run and play.

From where I was sitting I couldn't really see Joey, but I could hear the coaches yelling encouragment alot to him.

What I did see was an almost maddening look in BJ. When they were doing the boxing reps, even when they were supposed to be doing the slower reps, the look in his eyes was crazy and very focused.

Armo and CJ look great. They seem to have lost that kid baby look and are looking very lean and muscular.

Rooey as always was a true leader. Never stopped and looked very focused. Worked with a couple of the younger guys in the handball drills as well.

All in all the whole team looked somewhat more leaner and muscular. They all seemed to be very focused (some more than others).

After the training session, they came up to the boundary and signed autographs etc. They are seemed very happy and friendly.

Load on to photobucket, image shack etc..and then post the link here using the Img button.

The pic/s will then be viewable.

Good to see Armo on the track....didnt see him when I went last year.

A serious question.....Does anyone else think our players are somewhat undersized in terms of muscle? There are exceptions like Ball and Armo....But compared to an Adelaide or a West Coast.....

I look at Koschitzke and think, he's been in the system for 10 years....He would be a lot bigger......It was be intentional.
