Molly Meldrum is a passionate Saint man
But he can be an insensitive short-sighted fool sometimes.
On SEN with Harf he had another massive go at Raph and Dawson, and blamed Ross's selections of these two players ahead of Max for the GF loss.
I remember I felt very uncomfortable when he made strong comments regarding Max's non-selection at the Best and Fairest, which certainly wasn't the forum to be venting his hurtful opinions.
Also in the interview today he described how bored he was by Friday's game and how happy he was when BJ booted it up the guts from the kick-in in the last term, wondering why it hadn't happened all night (well how about the fact that the Dogs got the ball straight back.)
Not to mention his ridiculous ramblings about David Gallop being corrupt and wanting Melbourne Storm to fail.
Seriously Molly, love your passion, but pull your head in and act like an adult.

It is a ridiculous call by Molly, almost as ridiculous as the press seeking Molly out to pass comment on the salary cap scandal.dcstkfc wrote:Not to mention his ridiculous ramblings about David Gallop being corrupt and wanting Melbourne Storm to fail.
Agree 100%.dcstkfc wrote:Seriously Molly, love your passion, but pull your head in and act like an adult.

I think you are right there. I don't think St Kilda should get him up speaking at functions any more, he is an embarrassment. It annoys me how he always goes on about the Storm, I wonder if he goes on about St Kilda at their functions? Bit over Molly.markp wrote:Bless him... but I think he may have fried a few too many brain cells in the 70's and 80's.

Yeah I know, it's an instant story because they will say something stupid or controversial or sometimes both.Stephen Theodore wrote:I suspect the media know they will get a "heart on the sleeve" answer, similar to asking Neil Harvey or Thommo questions regarding cricket.
Dissapointing if he's bagging Zac and Raph (must be checking out this forum )
On the subject of Neale Harvey, I'm suprised he actually watches the cricket, I am yet to see him say a single thing that was positive about an Australian cricketer or cricket in general played since he retired.

No doubt he is very passionate but so are many others who don't have his high profile.
It's embarrassing that the media runs to him all the time in his capacity as a Saints supporter. Reality is that he is a bit of a goose and the media shouldn’t play up his commentary as if it reflects the views of all Saints supporters.
It would be much more preferable if they sought comment from a sensible celebrity fan such as Eric Bana.
However he is successful for actually doing something, so he may be a bit harder to contact than Molly and/or his dog.

For someone as, um, "different" as Molly he really should be more sensitive about going on air and bagging people out publicly!dcstkfc wrote:But he can be an insensitive short-sighted fool sometimes.

Is he back on the sauce?
Sounds like it.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

The Animal Enclosure had it right years ago as he stood on the wing in front of the grandstand at half time one Saturday at Moorabbin trying to interview someone on TV , when they started up a chant which was soon picked up by hundreds
...Molly's a wanker, Moll's a wanker ....and he he gestured to the stand with his index finger up to to pursed lips aside from the mobile camera on the ground ....SSSHHHH!!!!...SSSSHHH!!!!!
Love his passion for the Sainters , but no different than mine or yours probably , so I'm with you Bev and if that's his current form them I'm over him also, and the Club should use him if needs be with whatever he may have to offer with a bit more thought towards the occasion perhaps??

What has he ever done to earn an honest living?
Produced a couple of half decent records in the 60's and 70's, hosted Countdown after getting his start miming other artists on Commotion.
Since then he's been a celebrity. In other words a leech on society, who contributes nothing.
It's an embarrassment to have him connected to our club.
