Zac was just. Dempster shouldnt be in the side. I could go on. We took the rest but lets face it we will only win games being defensive first.

Doesn't perform well out of the structure...but give 'em time. This whole thing will take several rounds to start to gell, and more than a few personnel changes, if we miss the finals that may be a risk RL needs to consider taking.

Player first instinct is to look sideways for the loose man rather than quick movement to a target down the guts.

And I saw nothing in the first two rounds to suggest that the way we were playing was going to continue to be successful. Our former lock down style is not the way to develop new players, and without new, younger players coming in we will stagnate.

IMO we have lost the ability to play any sort of running game. Tonight saw us 'handball happy', playing high risk footy through the corridor - I expect to see plenty more of this style of play as we bring in and blood plenty of young running players - will we see results this year? I doubt it, but it will leave us in much better stead for next and subsequent years.

It's a shame. RL could have employed the old strategy and we could have lost by 1 point instead. Even if we had only kicked 5 goals for the game, at least the percentage would looked better.

To be fair, it may take awhile yet to get a complete grasp on the new style...it's been years of the same.
