I am 100% sure of it. The confidence the players will get from beating the Eagles will trasform our team. Hopefully we can do it. This is the crunch game of the year IMHO.
Always good to get a few positive type threads in before you revert back to your 'kosi's a dud, we should tank, we should trade Roo for pick 9' ones…
cheers

Did they get banned today? Because I registered today!!!!!
In all honesty, to be certain of making the 8 we are going to have to beat one of Eagles, Collingwood and Carlton..plus win the games we have to..eg GCS and Adelaide..
Eagles over here is the most gettable of those three
Huge game. And for the first time since the Tigers draw I'm legitimately looking forward to a bounce!
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Me to, maybe its me but we seem to be playing a more watchable brand of footy.
Five out of the last 7 games have certainly been more watchable
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

What about the last quarter v North Helen? Your other nic called our club gutless.
Are you going to stand by your banned nics call?

Oh no, not another one. What is going on in here?
Answer the question St.Nick, NexXxus_Nick/Helen.
You are transparent in your spamming and posting style.
Either you are mentally impaired or just too stupid to change your trolling style.
You do know that a couple of the mods know how to IP trace dont you?
You may not be anonomous as you think you are.
Beware.

Go Sainters
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
make the 8?? we are a chance to even hit the top 4....
looking at way teams are playing and how theyre playing on the different grounds we are a massive shot if we can get something together
depending on how we finish out the season we could be playing carlton in round 24 for the 4th spot which in those circumstances i think we would roll them....
(with alot of luck we could still pinch 3rd amazingly)
games that interest me and make me think this way are
round 17.
saints vs west coast (home)
sydney vs fremantle (scg)
adelaide vs essendon (aami)
north vs bulldogs
carlton vs collingwood
and hawks with the bye
round 18
saints vs adelaide (home)
sydney vs bulldogs (scg)
essendon vs carlton
fremantle vs west coast (freo losing earlier but having won last serveral years)
demons vs hawks (hawthorns injury list and melbourne desperate to make 8)
roos vs blues (roos have had the wood recently)
round 19
saints vs suns
bulldogs vs west coast (in melb bulldogs desperate)
fremantle vs hawks (in perth)
collingwood vs essendon
geelong vs melb
sydney the bye
round 20
saints vs freo (home)
essendon vs sydney
hawks vs north
bulldogs the bye
so by round 20 we could be sitting 1 game from 3rd... which is kind of scary considering how bad our early season was...
i think the top 5 are pretty set, but spots 6 to 8 will come from the following: doggies, sydney, saints, freo, essendon and melbourne (likelihoods in that order)
i went through the games and there are just too many between these teams and those not far above / below on the ladder to pick likely outcomes. but, of our games, a few stand out as being huge:
RD17 – STK v WCE (ES) – HUGE
RD18 – STK v ADEL (ES) – should & must win
RD19 – GC v STK (MS) – should & must win big
RD20 – STK v FRE (ES) – should & must win
RD21 – STK v COLL (ES) – at least under the dome, but mark as a likely loss
RD22 – SYD v STK (ANZ) – HUGE, and good it’s not at the SCG
RD23 – STK v NM (ES) – should & must win
RD24 – CARL v STK (MCG) – HUGE
if we win what we should (& must), that gets us to 10 & ½ wins. because of the glut of teams and our percentage, i don’t think 11 & ½ wins will do it this year. essendon and sydney have also had draws this year so the % will matter against them, and we are about 10% behind both. we need to restrict any damage against the filth in case they get a hold of us, and go to town on adelaide, gold coast and north the second time around if we are to rely on 11 & ½ wins.
realistically I think we need to win 2 of the huge games against the wcoast, the filth, sydney and carlton, and so the game this saturday is season defining in a lot of ways. a win in this one will also put a lot of ladder pressure on those above and could spark confidence for a 6 game winning streak…
