Steven Baker to be recalled?

Post: # 1107414Post perfectionist »

He last played in round 13 against Geelong and has played 9 games for the year. My guess is that we will go experience over youth, but there are a number of players in the mix. Despite not being injury listed, Jason Blake's fitness is questionable. The other alternatives have either not played (Tom Walsh) or played two games (Tom Simpkin). Not ideal.

Jimmy's replacement has been discussed on other threads. The popular consensus seems to be that Tom Lynch will get the gig. Tom Simkin next, Tommy Walsh a bit further back due to his build (much bigger/heavier/slower).

Bakes and Blake have been consigned to the "time for a change" basket. However SS are not the selectors and they may well go for "experience" in either of these two, dependent on match-ups and fitness.

VFL had a bye last week and the week before he flew over to Adelaide as the emergency. So he has had 2 weeks off for doing nothing wrong on the field.
