Dean polo's handpassing

Post: # 1109200Post gringo »

Dean polo has some of the quickest hands around and has become important. He looks like he is worth the pick up, he looks to be enjoying his footy now. Do people rate him yet?

Before he played a game for us I wrote in a thread I thought he would be good for us.
I didn't want to push my point too hard because I wasn't 100% sold.
Coming along well for us

My top 5 tonight after watching live on telly:

Dal
Milney
Ben
BJ
Marco

great team effort but special mention to Vegas, Raph and Gram. And Kosi gave his usual 110%.

Sorry, forgot Roo - top stuff champ

Proving to be a handy pickup. He looks to me as if he is really enjoying his new environment, which wouldn't be hard if the old environment was richmond

Must feel good when you had no one show any faith in you. He just applies himself 100%, Tambling could do with a touch of his urgency.

Polo's last two weeks have been brilliant!

Great inside and spreads hard outside as well, as evidence tonight with 7 marks.

Few people must've been enjoying the humble pie tonight. Had a hand in at least 3 or 4 goals.

He played a great game. His limitation seems to be that he has not much penetration with his kick. But as for getting the ball and dishing it out, he was as good as anyone tonight. Like others have said, a whole bunch of the lesser-lights were great and played a role (Gamble, Clarke, Dempster, Ray, Kosi, Jones)

He puts his nose over it, make no mistake.

And it seems he has been instructed - as soon as you get it under pressure, arms up! Handpass!

Working great.

Thing that has impressed me the most, is that he was almost pigeon holed as an inside player only.

He certainly isn't overly quick, also not a plodder when it comes to foot speed.

But he spreads really well. He continues to run from the time he gets on the ground to when he gets his rest.

Works well forward and back.

He isn't a top AFL player or anything like that, but I think he is better then just a role player, he is a handy addition to the side.

Has to use the top heavy body shape for something I guess. He looks like the Chesty Bonds mannequin.

if he can bring his game against the big boys he'll be very handy.

Played a ripper. Like him at the coalface handballing. Questionable disposal but can win the footy and is having a serious dip. Good on him.

24/25?

That's still a bit of footy in front of you if you make the most of your 2nd chance.

Polo has had a really good couple of weeks. Agree with many of the points above including his quick hands. Great getting the handball out from the bottom of the pack. Has certainly showed a bit and looks happy to be there. Hope he continues to improve. Just wish he'd kicked that goal to top off a great night for him.

Robert Walls commented during the game tonight that tonight's game by Polo was better than any he had seen him play for Richmond.
If anything I think he was even better last week and was certainly under a lot more pressure.
