Siposs ball use would have helped tonight...

Post: # 1209510Post One Eyed Saint »

Whilst lacking some consistency across 4 qtrs at the moment, his foot skills would have helped tonight in my opinion.

50-60m long accurate kicks would have broken up freo's defensive zone

On the turnover we dominated Freo 1 on 1 but on too many occasions our footskills let us down.

Let's get him into form at Sandy this week and get him back in the 1's next week

I agree.

Siposs should be a part of the long term plan for the club. We need him to burst on to the scene like Milera has.

The kids need to be rotated through.

Siposs will be sighted soon enough

Gwilt would have been handy too, but neither was available. There were a lot of veterans producing woeful disposal efforts tonight (Monty, Milne, Gilbert, etc), none of 'em are kids and the opposition was exactly stunning...no excuse. I only wish we had the cattle to punish some of these guys for their efforts, although I s'pose most of them looked like superstars the last few weeks?

Not sure why Siposs and Ledger are not in...

Both put their scone over it and IMO look like they have what it take to cut the mustard....

So where is he?
Isn't he recovering from an injury?
I seem to remember there was some concern about his knee a week or two ago.

Keep him in the gym with Tommy and Daniel. That will get him ready for senior footy.

EXACTLY!

Selecting Peake ahead of Ledger cost us the game against Port!

Surely L
edger and Sipposs are ahead of Newnes in the pecking order!

Newnes is a definite out for next week....can see that a mile away.

Be nice if we could drop Blake, but for who? Maybe Wilkes???

Was Newnes really that bad? For his 3rd game I thought the kid was ok. Wasnt disgraced... or do we want to go down the Tom Lynch road of play two miss a month play one miss two months etc etc.

Issue for Siposs is not what he does when he gets it, it's how often he gets it. Question is how much he should learn that in the 2s or would he be better coming and doing it in the big league?

I dare say he'd have been getting it a whole lot more than the 6 or 7 possies a game Cripps has been getting so far this season!

Thought exactly the same thing on the train ride home, which seemed to go for an eternity, as I was so flat. This is precisely why I was so shocked that he wasn't in the team from round one, when I thought he'd be a monty to be playing after doing well in the NAB Cup games.
Our kicking tonight was extraordinarily costly time and time again and it wasn't just the "usual suspects". Last week was exactly the same though, only last week we were playing a side in disarray who didn't make us pay for our continual turnovers and poor choice of options.

Arryn is a natural footballer as you can tell by his natural instincts and decision making..... not a lot he needs to learn as far a understanding the game....

He didn't win a lot of footy last year because Ross played him as a marking fwd....clearly at 18yo in the AFL with a medium size and undeveloped body that is tough, and he struggled with second efforts

ATM he is being played high, and just needs to improve his tank....
