The Blues midfield pressure and tackling was superb - credit to them

Ive no doubt we can beat Essendon IF we apply some good old 2009 manic pressure and intensity........just havent seen us do that against them for a while..

I thought it was a bad result for the Saints, but it just shows that the top 4 is not even truly a lock yet.

Bizarre season.

One brilliant piece of play by Yarran, he was in the Filth's goal square, evaded a couple of ferals, then spotted up a team-mate in the danger zone - up the middle! Gilbo would have been caught holding the ball; Raph would have kicked it straight to a Bomber; Gram wouldn't have even gotten to the ball; Fisher would have kicked it out on the full; CJ would have put the ball 40 metres up and 10 metres horizontal.
Therein lies the difference between a top team and our team. Inability to execute cleanly.
You know I'm right.

I guess that's the reason they smashed us this year. You know I'm wrong.

Geez a bit rough on Sam Fisher, the bloke is an out and out champion and would be Carlton's best defender if he played for them

yeah, i thought at the time that was a pretty stupid thing to do. it came off, so he's a genius - but it was much more likely that he'd just turn it over for an easy goal.

it's like putting your house on number 27 at the roulette table. you might win big but that doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do.

A place in the eight up for grabs this evening...tipping out Carlton.

In the margin comp on this board, we have 10 tipping the Saints & 4 tipping the Evil Ones. All the betting agencies have us at long odds. Would be unreal if we could win.

Correct! With the exception of the 1999 prelim. That was hilarious.
