Take care Sainters in all states

Post: # 1294495Post saintbrat »

But specifically thinking of any who may be in Queensland- or have family there
and who have or are in Firedanger areas in Victoria or other parts of Australia

and thinking calm thoughts for family and friends who may have people they know in those areas..

and those holidaying anywhere-

What have you got against people who live outside of Australia?

or a party that may get out of hand?

If so thinking of you too....

actually have a family member who has moved overseas and one of the things he did in his first week was find the local Aussie rules team.

Was a wild night here and there's still heaps of rain and wind pounding.

I've been through a few cyclones from when I lived in Cairns and it wasn't as bad as those, but still had windows rattling and the wind was full on. I got up at 1 am and went outside to check for damage. We still have power and water so all good. A few branches down in the front yard and I imagine there would be loads of debris right across the Coast.

Not sure if anyone will be going to school tomorrow, have to wait and see how it pans out.

Any other Sainters up here, stay safe guys!

I blame Danny Nalliah. He's got a direct line to God so either he's not praying hard enough or he's specifically praying for bad stuff to happen.

"Bush fires one day, floods the next" the so called experts try to tell us it's Climate Change - what bull tish.

Nothing has changed in my 70 plus years - always bush fires (the more bush you have the more fires you have) and always floods (low lying flood prone areas where they continue to build houses etc.)

I don't think anyone's said that the fires or floods are related to climate change. Have you got a source for that? If they have then they're stupid. Climate change is causing melting polar ice, which leads to sea level rises which mean that the Maldives will be gone in the next fifty years.

Tim Flannery, a so called weather scientist, comes out regularly with "bull tish" statements on forecasting weather patterns and usally is so wrong it's laughable. He predicted that Melbourne was to be totally dry (no water) by now, parts of the east coast of Australia are going to be washed away sending values down the gurgler and, among other things, now heads up one of Julia's Canberra departments advising her lefty mates on how to spend the billions she is ripping out of us taxpayers via the carbon tax.
Incidently, the Maldives I understand are SINKING very very slowly - it is NOT due to the sea level rising at all.

No idea about that, but Wikipedia says that 80% of the country is less than one metre above sea level so it wouldn't take much rise in sea levels for it to disappear. No doubt Greenland's shedding ice now faster than it was 20 years ago, and that can only cause sea levels to rise. You can debate whether or not humans cause it, but not whether it's going to be more and more of a problem.
