Current rookies for next year

Just wondering if anyone knows the status on what we can/can't do with our current rookies next year.

Which ones can't be re-rookied, either have to be elevated or delisted?

Here's when they joined:

Tom Curren and Jackson Ferguson rookied in 2011, third year on list
Darren Minchington, Cameron Shenton and Jordan Staley rookied in 2012, second year on list

I think the way it works is that it's a two year contract, and if the club and player agree it can be extended to three years without going back to the draft. After that they have to be delisted or elevated.

So that would mean it's D-day for Curren and Ferguson, but the others could stay on? Someone might know better than me though.

I'm guessing they will want to upgrade Ferguson, showing promise & our lack of KPD's...

Really need to have a look at Curren this year too before we can make the call, wonder if we have to wait for one of our mids to get injured.

i think its a no brainer that ferguson will be upgraded. we'll then look for an internation rookie from NZ to replace his spot on the rookie list.

curren i wouldnt have a clue on. 50/50.

They can all be re rookied. Its just that other clubs can take them if they want. Pretty sure if we want them they are safe. At the moment none will be re rookied but sill very early in the year.

cant we upgrade one of them anytime we want because of markworth?

we might upgrade both by years end for a look at them?

True… though I think Curren needs a few games so that we can make a call on him for next year.

B&F for sandy last year, playing good footy again this year… he has deserved a chance I reckon.

We're pretty short on decent mids too ATM
