Fisher, Dal, Lenny, Milne, Jones, Ray, Gilbo

Shocking day. Expect so much more. Most players were beaten, but these guys I'm highlighting because of their experience.
It's a team effort and everyone needs to lift, but none of these guys took the game on and lead. Not good enough.

I feel for Lenny..a midfielder needs to do more

Dal this yr is conceding too easily...where is the manic tackling. We're standing off them letting them run

I reckon the thing to come out of this game was how very poor the effort was from a lot of senior players. I hope we send a message and drop some. We should stand for playing for the jumper. 100% 100% of the time. If you can't do that then leave or be sacked.

Fisher was a shocker compared to how he use to be.

Jones was outstanding. Fisher did well early but faded.
Ray was terrible early but improved.

Fisher refused to run and chase on so many occassions. He should be ashamed to collect his pay packet this week.

Fisher is underdone, not up to fitness atm. Still, had a shocker.

Jones was in the best 3 - with Montagna and McEvoy  Hayes was far from their worst

Dal Santo is a married man now. Still in his honeymoon phase.

What do we think of the first month of all of those players....

Jones was criticised for his game... His habit of stopping with the ball in hand costs the team run

Dals best year was 2011, hasn't even got close to reaching that standard since.

I guess that's why he cops the tag, every week, because he is 'potentially' damaging.

Wish he'd play like Watson when tagged though :(

Needs more animal in him, one stage on the wing, he was casually jogging and very unwilling, never seen that. Seen him heavily tagged and quiet, but not casual.

Dal Santo has been disappointing for a while now. Lacks intensity and plays like he is just making up the numbers.

Jones was very good and Gilbo actually went well too.
Lenny went pretty well.

Totally agree. He always gets some high number of disposals but I never to see him in the play, let alone moving the ball on.

They all lack chase and run and none threw themselves at the opposition in a tackle. Our tackling has dropped big time.

here we go again...

every single time. Jones was NOT very good.

He chased, he tackled, he pressurred, he did a few nice things. You have to admire his work rate, his effort, his attention to detail... I love the fact that he does everything humanly possible to get the best out of himself...

that being said... he was average... turned a few over, costly mistakes and frequently stuffs up the counter attacks. His mistakes were costly today and his opponents hurt us BAD.

If 21 other players had his endeavour we'd be unstoppable... if 21 players were as erratic as him we'd be a bigger basket case

I have to agree Skeptic

I commented at the game - just a shame Jones reads the game clearly so well.....just does not have the skills to execute and is clogging a spot for a kid.

Disposal is terrible..but sadly, he's one of our few midfielders that isnt one paced - the rest are treacle.

Jones was head and shoulders our best.
(I didn't even think his disposal was exceptionally bad today.)
You can criticise him, but there are people tonight still saying he should be dropped.
Why don't we just pick nobody and forfeit the game against Sydney.
It would save on air fares.
Jones is the least of our problems. Everyone else played even worse!

And so many are very quick to crucify Blake for giving away frees for jumper holding when he's wrestling for position with opposition monsters, taller and heavier than him. Fisher has the same problem, often gets caught jumper holding when he is out of position in one on one situations. Three times he was pinged last night for jumper holding and two times it resulted in very easy goals to the bombers. Fisher might be under done a little, so let's hope he can get back into some sembalance of attacking form. Pity he wasn't as versatile as old Blakey, he could have had a run if the ruck for awhile to try and at least give the team something.

agree CJ was excellent....

Goes to show that skills are important but effort is more important....

ideally we will have skill and effort, but skills without effort is pointless

Well was he meant to be on Jobe or not?
If he was Id rather he had zero touches and keep Jobe to 10.

Dal's effort dropped off a cliff when Lyon walked out the door. He knows the new guy won't put him in the twos and plays accordingly. I think he's an immensely talented player that has given us a lot, but he got to 200 games without too many injuries - either a sign of great resilience or he's a bit afraid to get hurt. Unfortunately, I think the latter.

I'm sure Dal Santo hated Ross Lyon for the his discipline, but Ross got the best out of Dal.

Dal is now making up the numbers. Just turning up each week to run around, give a few token efforts.
Agreed, he knows he won't get dropped anymore so can "afford" to not give his maximum.

Dal's position surely has to be bought into question. Problem we have is who do you replace him with or maybe it doesn't matter and he should be dropped regardless. His efforts so far this season have been not where it should be at for a senior player of his standing. We need him to be showing the young guys how to work hard on the field.
