Very odd upgrading Shenton and not playing him.
More odd having Milne as sub. Either in the 21 or out of the 22.

It's Watters, everything is odd

Re: No changes!
And Gilbo straight in.
Shenton should be playing.
Watters is struggling.

Re: No changes!
Disappointed for Shaggy
Dont see any point not giving him 3 games so we can assess him.
What do we gain playing Gilbo? hes contracted for next year anyway, underdone and we cant finish higher than 3rd bottom.
Strange behaviour. Does SW still think hes a chance to make the 8?
If Shaggy doesnt play next week Ill go feral.

Re: No changes!
As much as Im in the play the kids camp, I have not seen shenton.
... is it more the point, the bigger bodies of the swans & the tight ground, SW feels more inclined to throw gilbert at them.
yes he has one more year on contract, but that doesnt mean he will be with us next year.

And Shenton's claim to fame is.....what?
We've badly missed Gilbert's run out of the backline this season, great that he's back. Need his height, run and experience down back.

Re: No changes!
So what is to gain from
1. Upgrading Shenton and not playing him
2. Playing Gilbert cold after a long layoff in a meaningless game
3. Playing Milne as sub
Is there any logic whatsoever behind any of these decisions? Or is Watters just trolling the AFL and saints fans?

Re: No changes!
Agree totally just another example of Watters poor rationale with his selections. The only reason Gilbert should be playing if he is trade bait at seasons end, even so if they break him today it will increasing ridiculous! Why bother updating Shenton then not playing him the poor bugger !mad saint guy wrote:So what is to gain from

Not sure I agree with the last statement. i think the coaching staff would have explained why they upgrading him but wont be playing him. Dont think he just looked in the paper for his name. A couple of strange selections though. The Milne sub thing is the most confusing IMO.
