Re: Stay Safe Sainters
We have just had an extension done and my enviro conscious wife didn't get air con on purpose. It's well insulated and a big old double brick house but the heat is breaching my strong hold. we are up to 29 degrees indoors and rising so I have the industrial fan out and the spray bottle for the kids.

when I was driving home mid to late afternoon it was 41 on the car temp gauge- outside temp- small heavy sprinkle over next 2 km or so and temp gauge dropped to 30 but within the next km it was back to 42
I have been thankful there hasn't ( around me anyway) been a strong northerly along with the temp- but the lightning strikes are a worry- whilston the road laate Tuesnight there were lightning strobes for over an our.
Bring on Saturday.....

Please tell your better half that with respects the environment can go whatever to itself if it means your quality of life is severely compromised.gringo wrote:We have just had an extension done and my enviro conscious wife didn't get air con on purpose. Sorry this environment excuse is crap. Sure, double glaze, install blinds and quality insulate your house, but for gods sake get either an evap cooler or split system installed!
We have an evap cooler and the highest it's got to is 27 degrees and this morning or was only 24 inside

Re: Stay Safe Sainters
we;ve got a decent splitty on at the moment on 21 degrees
it cools the lounge nicely and is rated to actually cool the entire lounge dining and kitchen
but its that f****** hot at the moment the temp gauge on the control panel for the ducted evap on the kitchen wall (yes we have two air cons) says 27
full insulation and soundproof insulation in the walls but it doesnt matter
its hot, damn hot
cool change tonight apparently and should drop to 30 degrees tomorrow and for the rest of next week ive heard it shouldnt hit 40 again....hopefully

Re: Stay Safe Sainters
Matrix I've heard from 2 people whose central heating has turned on automatically in the last few days
suggestion- now its almost over
I place wheatpack in a plastic bag in the freezer several hours before trying to sleep, then place it under my back
atleast I get a few hours sleep before the heat wakes me
