Who will debut first?

Post: # 1540438Post saintbob »

McCartin, Goddard or Mckenzie??

I think Goddard is slightly ahead of McCartin, seems to be performing a bit more consistently so far.

But I reckon McKenzie will beat them both, as we seem to be settled down back and our key forwards are gelling quite well.

I think McKenzie will be first as I'd expect Lonie and Sinclair to have a rest at some point. Goddard will play later as the club may chose to manage Fish as well. McCartin will definitely get a go but Bruce and Membrey seem to be before him at the minute. Really good situation to be in at the moment.

Not sure where this leaves Spencer White though!?!

Maybe Markworth should be added to this list!

McCartin definitely, for PR reasons if nothing else.

I'd like to see Goddard come in for Roberton. Just my opinion. Correct me if i'm wrong but dempster is about as agile and versatile as roberton, so figure we can squeeze robbo out and get in the young gun...i'm sure injury will open a vanacy for all our young guns at some point in the not too distant future.

Nice to know there are a few players waiting in the wings, and it puts pressure on the seniors. This Friday's game will sort out a few on the big stage. I guess if we struggle in defence then Goddard might get a nod and if Membrey doesn't do enough on the scoreboard then Paddy may get a look in, or even Spencer White who I would play regardless, as I think he is an X-factor type. The big challenge is the small forwards, as Lonie, Sinclair and Saad are really going to have to keep the foot on the accelerator while Eli, Minch, McKenzie are waiting in the wings.

McKenzie plays in the easiest position to debut first so I will go for him.

McKenzie - but only because of his position. It sounds like Goddard is ready to debut already but he will need to wait for an injury to Chips, Dempster or Delaney. Gilbo also might return. Paddy probably needs either Bruce or Roo to be injured before he gets run. What a frickin draft 2014 might end up being.

We should really be conservative with Gilbo imho. We will really need Gilbo when Dempster and Fisher retire so we need to plan for the future there.

Early days Con but geez - Sinclair and Lonie already look promising, McCartin and Goddard in the 2's coming along nicely, and McKenzie set to start up.

Pretty promising.

Would love for Acres and then Markworth to make a mark, especially Markworth. I know they aren't 2014, but wouldn't they be a bonus/

Bugger that. He should debut when he's earned it and there's a spot for him.

Apparently Paddy was quite impressive in the twos last week, kicking 4.3 or similar so his turn will come.

But it might need a tweaking of a forward structure that already contains two big forwards in Riewoldt and Bruce and a medium tall in Membrey

Unless Riewoldt plays wing or chb.
