Why?

95% of kicks in the AFL are dominant side

I'd take a top line dominant side kick

+1

It's a two-way two-sides of the ground game - not a one dimensional game.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Cause we have Webster while granted can hit a target if he gets caught on his right leg it ends up a goal to our opponents.....same goes for Gilbert......as a rightie i taught myself to kick both feet and in cricket bat lefthanded and could do both quite well but when i see leftie in afl level on big big money they should be able to do both

Not too many right footers kick all that well with their left either. Waste of time working on your non-dominant side when you rarely use it. Much better value on working on your strengths rather than your weaknesses.

If at first you don't succeed, sky diving is not for you.

Ditto, I can shoot a basketball well on left or right to keep the ball away from defenders.
Footy players should be able to do the same, not asking them to be able to bomb from 50 but just hit those 15-25m passes with the off foot.

Players (left or right) kick on their dominant side almost every time

You can kick left or right direction on either foot

Only time you'd use your non dominant
I50 against the boundary ... And you'd just square it

Under pressure players are coached to handball

Yes they use their dominant almost every time because they can't use the other one. Nick uses both quite regularly.
