Jaime Rae is a 36 year old a wife and mother of 4 children under 10 with her youngest being 2 years old. At 38 weeks pregnant in 2014 with her youngest she was diagnosed with very aggressive stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer extremely rare for someone so young and was induced 2 days later so chemotherapy could be started ASAP. This was followed by radiation which came at a very large financial cost for Jaime. A year later she had a mastectomy and 10 months after that a breast reconstruction. Thursday 29th January 2016 Jaime was diagnosed with aggressive Lymphangitic Carcinomatosis secondary to breast cancer and started Chemotheraphy the next day to prolong her life.
Jamie's time is precious now more than ever and we wish nothing more than to grant her and her family a little peace of mind and possibly achieve a few of her life dreams.
Jaime donates a lot of her spare time to helping out within the community eg, school council, kinder council Auskick clinics, local kids cricket , callisthenic, junior netball and Junior football all while going through Chemotherapy, radiation, a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. In 2015 Jaime won the MacArthur early childhood volunteer of the year award, she is an all-round fantastic person who is loved and cherished by all that know her, she would do anything to help anyone and always putting everyone else’s needs before her own.
As can be appreciated, this is having a profound effect on those close to Jamie. Although we may be limited to the assistance we can provide to Jamie in a medical sense, we feel that this is something that we must do as Jaime has given so much to the people she loves, supports, comes in contact with and continues to do so despise her current situation.
One of Jaime's life long dreams is to take her family to USA to meet family and take all 4 kids to Disneyland as soon as possible while she is still well enough to fly the distance and create some memories.
If we can raise this money not only will we grant Jaime with her dream but also take the financial pressure off so she can enjoy family time.
