Re: St Kilda's blueprint to financial success

I do not believe St.Kilda has a current contract with Etihad Stadium. The AFL had an agreement to play 46 home and away games. This will be reduced to 40 in 2013. This is an old source (September 2011), but I am not aware of any change. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/saints-to-march-in-at-mcg...

Re: 1913 Grand final footage

Back in 1913, there was only one field umpire for each game. Jack Elder umpired the 1913 Grand Final. He was named the Umpire of the century in 1996. This is what he was reported to say in The Sporting Globe. "Even in the hardest fought match it is important to remain calm. Use the whistle only...

Re: 1913 Grand final footage

There is film, but there is no information of how to access it. Maybe the MCG Museum. THE oldest known footage of football being played in Tasmania has been discovered by the National Film and Sound Archive in Melbourne. The 1911 film features the state final between Cananore and North Launceston at...

He had a couple of mates that agreed with him.
Lyon was so sure of it, that he told the world with it on his Fitzroy jumper.

Re: Ian Synman's Guernsey

Calling someone a Ranga is an insult.
Ranga is an abbreviation of Orangutan.
If you did not know, Orangutans have red hair.

If it is not acceptable to call people from other countries Apes, Gorillas or Monkeys.
It is not acceptable to call our own Ranga's.

And no, I do not have red hair.

The Finey on radio, and the Finey at the football are different people. Early in his career at SEN (around 7 years ago), he may have been too bias towards the Saints. He copped heavy abuse from all angles, so he modified his radio persona. This created a situation, that he removes his emotion and he...
