Re: Is it the midfield, or our forwards?
As far as I can tell our midfield is setup to try and negate rather than do anything constructive I get that our midfield is not flash but they need to play with some freedom and dare Coaches need to stepup and make proper use of what we have Crouch, Clark and Ross will make a difference and make u...

Re: Sack Lyon
Clearly playing the list to see what’s what. Collard over Membrey Patton over Ross Yeah of course he’s going full tilt Are you suggesting we're tanking? Certainly may as well now. Not saying he’s tanking I’m saying he’s developing the list. Yep, I think he has carte blanche from the president to de...

Re: Is it the midfield, or our forwards?
Last night there was hardly ever space for our forwards to lead into. Our indirect, sluggish and uncertain ball movement allowed the Dockers time to crowd our forward line. They then scored with ease on the rebound into a wide open forward line. Forwards need space in which to operate. Congestion is...

Yes, you are correct Marto. I feel, however, Ross and the club have put the queue in the rack for 2024 and are looking to the future

Re: Play the youth
Who should be playing that is match-fit and isn’t? Look I daresay Seb Ross would offer more than, say, Phillipou … but the sad reality is that we aren’t contenders this year. And won’t be until we unearth some players

Re: Team vs Freo (Walyalup)
I maybe and hope I am wrong But I am completely staggered that Collard gets a game His form in the VFL has been ordinary at best and I think it does nothing for selection integrity for him to now get a game Sir Doug Nichols round? That and also we desperately need a small forward. Maybe not deservi...

Re: Team vs Freo (Walyalup)
Don’t mind the changes. It seems an attempt to address our midfield (Dow and Jones) and forward (Caminiti, Sharman and Collard) shortcomings. And it’s not necessarily a reflection on the guys omitted and managed. Will it pay off on Saturday? Who knows, but at least Ross is trying things as he must. ...

Re: Changes for Freo
Owens attended only 3 ctr bounces for the entire match. That's crap! Just start him at ctr bounce and let him drift forward like Horne-Francis, like Prestia, like De Goey, and like Dusty I remember those three times well. We looked like we had ball-winning intent. I agree with your ideas of how Owe...

If they don’t put work into him, he might have 50 Windhager should actually tag him!!! Cut the head off the snake - he is the fire starter Windhager is the only young fella that has shown any attacking flare around the stoppage contest and his game against the Pies is his ceiling in that regard, it...

Re: Coaches votes Round 9 vs Hawks
In my opinion, it's counter productive to expect Jack Steele to try and contain the best player each week from opposition teams. Who the hell is going to win you the footy? Your 3rd or 4th choice inside mid? How many times do you see mids from both teams getting high numbers. It's going to happen. ...

Re: Are we going full tilt in 2024????
I think we’ve got to back Ross in as coach for the long haul … and it may be a LONG haul. It’s now a developmental year, so we should play kids … but only if they deserve a game. The agenda has to be to address our weaknesses. In particular, our plodding midfield and inability to take the game on an...

Says something about the rest of the clearance midfield that he’d feel the need to make the clearance himself. But as you pointed out, there’s a fair possibility he was instructed to do it.

Dow, Jones, Sharman ... all in Hastie Garcia Membrey ... out Sharman to play forward and fkn leave him there ... can't be any worse than Membrey was today The other 2 changes are no brainers for midfield grunt Yes I think we can put a line through finals now, so it’s time to start working on the ar...

Get him off the last line. Put Owens deep. We are just lazily bombing it in there.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2024 3:53pm King can't hold a mark, what's the point of having him there.
