Re: Fremantle Demands Two First Round Picks For Hill

Wish people would stop offering Acres as the 'steak knives' in this deal, I'm a romantic and reckon he could be a superstar and ultimately a better player than Brad Hill. Please don't do it Saints. To be honest, I'm not to bothered if we miss out on Brad Hill. Agreed. Throwing away Acres is not the...

Re: TRADE: Saints picks 6 & 59 for Giants 12 & 18

I’ll be seriously pissed off if we get rid of Acres ,there are plenty on our list to move on but he has X factor & a good tank just hasn’t been coached properly or played in position! Hope he doesn’t go because it’s one we will regret ! Just starting to show his class. His attack on the ball in...

Re: What’s the latest on Jack Steven?

So, have I got this correct? Steven signs a 4 year contract with a salary in the last year of 800k At the end of year 2 he states he wants to go live near Geelong and asks to be traded to Geelong We say no - you're playing for us He gets some sort of ''mental illness problem' and hardly plays for u...

Re: What’s the latest on Jack Steven?

My question is why would we do that?
I would have thought that if Steven wants to be traded to Geelong then he wishes to break his contract, and be signing a new contract with Geelong.
His current Saints contract would be void!
Or am I missing something?

Re: Nick Hind in GF sprint

Ben King's time is encouraging for future suitors. He'd be absolutely elite against players of his height in the AFL. His time of 11.6 means he's travelling at 31 kph over 100 metres. The best of any AFL player this season was Oleg Markov at 37.4 kph - this was his top speed (possibly for a few metr...

+1@saintkid Billings is soft Overrated He sure is. We've watched him closely at games and he is definitely soft and overrated. No physical presence, no inspirational leadership play and regularly fails to nail goals from 35m or more out. Downhill skier when the team is going well. Against Carlton,t...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

Happy with this. We won nothing with him playing at his best can’t see him improving. I think we needed a different look. Bruce had two high quality years but went missing at other times. Comfortable about the deal;hoping though that we can extract a decent pick for a player who won a lot of contes...

Re: Needs to be done through the draft.

If St. Kilda is to ever be a finals contender again, I think our rebuild will need to be done via the draft and not trades. Yes, our recent drafting has been poor and yes, our development of younger players even poorer, but like Morth Melbourne, we are not a destination club and year after year we ...

Re: Battle forward

If we are going to move Marshall from a position he played well in, we may as well do the same with Battle? While we’re at it, move Jack Steele off the oppositions best, move Dunstan out of the centre square and Billings from the wing to somewhere else? I'd certainly be loathe to move Marshall away...

Battle forward

Josh Battle has been quite a success as a back. But I think he'd be a success anywhere so I wasn't suprised that he could adapt to defence. But key forwards are far rarer to find. He is one in the making. We are desperate for people who can reliably kick goals. He has shown himself to be an accurate...

I can’t understand the negativity about Ratten being appointed. He was clearly the best choice for the role. Please explain why you think this..... Coached previously......with only a 50% win record...... Denis Pagan 104 games 25 won 77 lost 2 drawn 24.04 % win 2003–2007 years Brett Ratten 120 game...

I rather hope there are not many specific questions about the game plan. Although it is relevant to whom we should appoint, there is the concern that such information is private and must remain so. Our coaching selection sub-committee comprises several people (CEO Matt Finnis, General Manager of Foo...

If you were on the interview panel

We’d all love to be that fly on the wall in the upcoming interviews with prospective coaches. What questions should be asked? Here are a few that could be asked of all candidates. 1. Where are we at with the list? 2. What changes would you consider to the leadership group? 3. What do we need to do t...

I guess the question is: Would you rather play against a team that had Marshall in the ruck - or against a team that had a ruck duo of Marshall and Goldstein? That is not the two options. The Options are: A/ Marshall and Goldstein and 20 other players OR B/ Marshall and 21 other players Option B/ f...

According to foxsports, ‘the Saints have moved quickly in an attempt to secure Goldstein, who’s an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.’ “Three-year deal, they’ve offered him, (or) two years and a clause at North Melbourne. He’s considering it right now,” John Ralph said. I just don’t get the ra...

Carlisle is overrated I think he's underrated. And I also think his return this year after back surgery has been incredible. Back surgery FFS!!! He's probably going at about 60% fitness. The guy is a genuine A grader - something that's a little thin on the ground at the Saints. He can have a fuse, ...

Brown has worked hard to deserve another contract. Whether he is in our best 22 remains to be seen, but he is a fine clubman and will play games in 2020.
Marsh did not have the benefit of a pre-season and is just 23.
Both retained.
