A bit late with this, but how about Alan Stretton, Major-General AO, OBE. He, like Col Williamson went to Brighton from St Kilda and under Col (the Coach) helped Brighton win its first flag. Played 31 games with St Kilda and kicked 10 goals. He lived in the district and started training with Melbour...

Great post!! Sets me off down memory lane. Have just realised how many great players who did not reach 100 games. For example, Pat hartnett (66) and Clarrie Hindson (90) whom I saw play and who were stars every week. Others like Ditterich, Sarau stand out like beacons by todays standards in terms of...

Crippsy

He is given credit by Chocko Williams for the improvement in Port's attack, particularly in the turnaround of Tredrea. I had lost track of this great Saint since he left us as assistant under Thommo. Pity we could not find a place for him, but then he may have had views about the sacking of Thommo. ...

Watching the Saints at the Junction Oval is my first memory. I joined the band in the Army Cadets at school so I could take a bugle to the footy to play when we scored. Got kicked out of the ground after about 3 rounds of playing the bugle in the Ironmonger Stand. I always wondered where that bugle...

We did well on the free kick count again (29/17).
Does this mean that as well as a good game plan the discipline is pretty high?

Gards told me back in Feb. (and it has been stated elsewhere) that this is the first season he has ever been injury free at the start.
Incidentally has anyone noticed how Cox uses one arm wrapped around his apponent's back at the boundary throw-ins? Should be pinged IMO.

In my typical fashion I am waiting to see if he shows anything that can be a pointer to his future value. That is not to say he should be out of the side jsut yet. Against WC he wwould receive just a pass mark, probably due to our total dominance. RL must see something in him that is not evident to ...
