Re: Nick
As for the dance: Aboriginal round in the AFL, a sporting competition. He'd just scored a goal. Again, it was Aboriginal round. He is aboriginal. It's a dance created by an aboriginal group of kids he'd just met. Would it be OK if it it was an aboriginal cooking dance? It's a contact sport, a fierce...

Re: Nick
If it is racism then why doesn't Rioli, Franklin, Jetta, Burgoyne, Ryder etc get booed? The number of times I've heard that! All nice aboriginal players who don't try and upset the status quo. They play the game. They don't put on airs. Nothing white society hates more than outspoken black people. ...

Re: Is Jack Billings a worry
Gotta say the baiting in this place is just plain boring. Not saying anyone is better or worse than anyone else...you can draw your own opinion if you have the will. Fact is plugger has raised a legit question that I was quite interested in responses to and all we get is nonsense. Totally agree. So...

Re: POLL: Will we win another game this season?
Maybe Geelong, I reckon we must be at least a good chance. 30-40%? maybe Freo, wouldn't that be great? Those anchors start a-quivering whenever they see red, white and black. maybe North, maybe next week. The rate Sydney are going, we're not without a chance at Etihad. All those maybes have to add u...

Re: POLL: What was the best thing about today's win?
I chose winning at the G, which will be invaluable as this team grows. Realistically though I could have easily picked Tackling, Paddy, Moving up Ladder, seeing tankers get upset, and Roos fail. I take no pleasure in watching Watts flounder, (I hope he eventually comes good and shoves it right up th...

Ask people which players they hate the most and a lot would say H. Lamumba and A. Goodes. Sad for Australia.

I can see the Dees opening us up in the 3rd unless we get smarter with our ball use and going for marks.
An ugly game. Hope we win it. Hope we smash em. Gotta start getting wins at the G again.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Demons @ MCG
Do they have a stat for direct turnovers to opposition advantage?
There should be a grade system for turnovers:
Grade 1: turnover to opposition direct scoring shot
Grade 2: turnover to opposition to advantage
Grade 3: turnover to opposition in congestion
Something like that anyway.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Demons @ MCG
I haven't watched much footy lately, but I have to say I'm surprised by just how low the skills are. It seems like a lot of players here just have stumps instead of hands and feet. I hope we can sort it out eventually.

Re: What are the reasons behind the lower supporter base?
Why would anyone go for Liverpool if they want success? I'll bite. Because they were very successful. A lot of kids following their families into LFC. They are still one of the biggest clubs in the world, were until recently a lock in for a top 4 position and despite their lack of premier league ti...

Re: If Sandy win the Premiership....
Confidence and morale. But they are both pretty important things in a footy club. Would be a great reward for loyal stalwarts like CJ and then to a lesser extent TDL, Simpkin, (Curren) and Minch. That's a really good point. I think it's great for those many guys we have on our list who are not quit...

A moderator is still allowed to be a poster with opinions, surely? If Teflon was a mod and posted a thread like "Are you willing to do whatever it takes to become a strong team, even if it meant short term pain?" I would not give a care. If he actively started showing bias in his moderatio...

Re: Do you want us to beat Melbourne?
You'll never get a straight answer. "I want the club to win long term" "what a simplistic choice" "of course I *want* the saints to win, and to be a powerful team" "i think a loss isnt the end of the world" etc etc etc Sounds a lot better than "I'd prefer...

Mods please prune this back to when we stopped discussing the subject of the thread.
The amount of people trying to bait P66 now is staggering. You'd think they'd see the irony of making threads all about him.
But no.

Talking of turnovers, we've turned over our players, coaches and recruiters a few times, so its frustrating to see the same old problems haunting us.

Makes all those behinds we kicked early in the game pretty significant.
Oh well. We at least woke up in the first quarter.
Going on what someone was saying about on field leadership, seems that Schneider may have been missed more than some think.

Re: Just a dirty day in the office
I think that the job of the CEO of a professional sports club in a powerful league is far different to that of a football player playing 22 matches a year. I would prefer Finnis be smart rather than just a bull at a gate. So far, based on results, he's not the best we've had since I've been followin...

So you're saying that if we'd played Hawthorn and Collingwood twice instead of Bulldogs and Essendon we'd be in the same position with the same momentum? I bow to your knowledge. Your comments were ignorant and just plain wrong. You were talking about unexpected wins. Unexpected to whom? Not me. I p...
