Re: All the best Farren- retired
Big fan of Faz, met him a few times and couldn't have been a nicer bloke. Had sneakily underrated 2009-10 seasons.

Re: The Weller brothers
I listened to the most recent Road to the draft podcast and they spoke to lachie weller. The way he was talking about freo and his future doesnt indicate a move. they asked him about how hes settled in and he said "first year was really tough" second year has been alot better and said it w...

Re: Whats with the interest in Steele?
Yeah if hes done the navicular bone and not treated properly that would seriously derail things. in basketball terms took KD 2 seasons to fully recover. Mind you if its not a bad break id still be trying to get this kid. Hes a bull in a china shop and would compliment the midfield nicely. Would stil...

Re: Twomey's September form guide
Not a huge fan of scrimshaw. Ive heard mixed reviews about his kicking and he will have to put on another 10kgs before he can "compete" with the big bodied forwards. I like venables i think he and even mcgrath if he even gets that far are exactly what we need as those burst players to go t...

Re: Delistings
Curren (unfortunately), Lee, Delaney, Murdoch, Saunders, Baker-Thomas i think are close to definite. i question what they will do with Shenton and Holmes. I was a big fan of curren but just seemed to fall down the pecking order. Fisher i reckon gets kept on the rookie list if he wants the spot. Be p...

Re: trade targets next two years
on the original post wouldn't mind getting Tom Lamb, Jack Steele and Caleb Marchbank. there are rumors about Lamb wanting to come back to Victoria. I have a feeling Lennon may go up to GC and i think Freo will lock in Weller in their midfield trio with Fyfe and Neale.

Only left because of scott watters. I reckon theres always a spot for dal at stkilda, fantastic servant to the club and would really benefit the development of Billings. Bring him in on a rookie contract or f.a either way get him back in the red white and black!

Re: 2017 Captain - serious thread
I think ive mentioned this in one of the other threads. I'm a big fan of the idea that mav should be the next captain. Hes the perfect team barometer, Tackles hard, lots of pressure, kicks goals and plays taller than he is and with that being said will play any role to the best of his ability. On a ...

Re: Salary Cap - Veterans???
i believe and this is what i heard either this year or last year. apparently roo, joey, dempster and fish aren't on the veterans cap purely because we need to reach the salary floor of 95%. hence why a lot of our rookie contracts at the moment are inflated and why we are linked with pretty much ever...

Re: We have too many dual role players
You need players that have multiple roles due to rotations. Unless you have a Noah's Ark team. Comparing to 2009 is not ideal as the game has changed a lot since then and changes every season with new rules in place. Flexibility is the key, so I'm an advocate for multiple roles as you can't easily ...

Re: Blake on his development- article
Just a sneaky thing ive found with blake is that hes very hard to tackle. yeah hes been pinged a few times for holding the ball but most of the time he gets his hands free and allows him to move the ball on. The maverick weller goal against the dons? is a prime example of acres slippery abilities. A...

Re: Anybody else having doubts with trading in a star?
Maybe best to go for a Marchbank/Steele type and of deal and keep pick 8 or 9 or whatever it is as well. If Hurley is interested in coming to the club.. great... lets work something out. Don't blow smoke up the guy's arse though. Same goes with chasing any 'star' players. Might even be best to wait...

Re: Changes V Tiges
Personally i reckon its time for Eli, White, Longer, Webster, Geary and Shenton to get a gig. Outs Fisher (inj) Hickey (inj 1-2) this is according to sctalk, Wright, Minch. i know it doesnt add up but i dont think you can make more than 4 changes unless theres injuries. But definitely against the li...

Re: Carnt play them all!!!!!
As i remember richo did say earlier in the year there will be down games from that forward line trio. We need them to play together as much as possible at this stage. develop some chemistry and learn from better defenders and how to beat them. Personally id be resting Hickey and potentially sending ...

I dont think paying overs for Jaeger is the way to go. Hasnt played in 2 years, still requires surgery and is going to develop Patella Tendonitis over the years and will have to be managed over his career. Quite possibly the next Adam Cooney. He may carve out a career but i feel it will be a short p...

Re: Anyone else disappointed with too many wins this year?
Don't see how trying to build a winning culture after the past 4-5 years of bad footy can be considered disappointing. I think the only disappointing thing is the difference between our best and worst footy (also interstate form). I do think richo has also rotated the players and has found out who i...

Re: Nathan Freeman
Reckon we've wasted a second round pick there. It was a big risk. Happy to be proven wrong. On the same basis we would IMO be crazy to try and get O'Meara. I think its worth gambling with a second round pick for a bloke who was a top 10 pick and showed flashes during his youth as being the next luk...

Saints to Throw Kitchen Sink at Fyfe
St Kilda FC are set to throw the kitchen sink at Freo's Nat Fyfe. Fyfe has recently told the Fremantle FC that he will look at his options before deciding. St Kilda has been using the minimum (95%) of their salary cap for the past 3 years and it is expected to have at least $1.5million per year for ...

i think its a fair system and they are all about equalisation. but the big question remains for me is can these picks be traded because i feel the academy clubs will just be able to further exploit the loopholes in the current system.
