Re: End of season trade news
Yeah i only get bits and pieces but i've only heard the rumours for Marchbank, Prestia, O'Meara and Gaff. Personally 2 of them would be nice and considering this is a weak draft and unless we are guarenteed to get someone like Will Brodie, McCluggage or even Ainsworth id be trading the pick.

Re: Will make it
i do think the biggest knock with these youngsters coming in is they just cant find the footy. Dont come at me with stats im going pure barber shop. Lonie doesnt seem to be able to convert his chances, looks for the pass to often. I dont know if this is a role change but i would like to see him like...

Re: Membrey... The new Jake Stringer?
Like how I was with Bruce, I need to see Membrey performing at a high level for more than half a season or just kicking a few bags before I become a true believer and slot him in my premiership 22. Like Bruce, the oppo will start to put some serious work into him now that he put his head above the ...

Re: The Danger zone
From what i saw in the carlton game (when they played the cats) they tagged selwood all day and ensured whoever played on motlop gave him a hard time. My thinking with danger is hes gonna get his touches anyways so you might as well just let him do his thing and concentrate on the other pieces in th...

Re: Membrey... The new Jake Stringer?
Been a big fan of the kid since he got drafted. Thought he was a steal for the swans and was hoping the saints would get him but i think we picked Webster instead. Absolute steal in the trade(?) we got for him. Perfect 3rd forward, beautiful kicking style and very glad the kids doing well. Plays lik...

Re: Jade Gresham
I'm sold, the kids confidence is growing week by week. He makes the right decision when the pressures on, very skillful, fantastic vision and what is the most important thing is he converts his half chances in front of goal. Watching him win a 2-1 in a contest was outstanding and again watching him ...

Re: Not a Roberton fan
I can say im not much of a roberton fan either but can understand him playing if no one else in the reserves is standing up. I get that he provides drive off the half back line and his role is obviously not 3rd man up. i think the thing that frustrates me most about him is his disposal efficiency an...

Re: Team v Blues
I dont mind the INs for this week trialling Lewis Pierce is a great move. Means we can see if theres any versatility with him going forward and rotating with Hickey throughout the game and certainly will give bruce a much needed rest. Nathan Wright is probably on his last legs at the club (not sure ...

Re: Contract time approaching
As we approach the half way mark of the season I thought it was time to have quick peek at which players are OOC this year. Here is the list and beside that what I think will happen. 2016 Nick Riewoldt - will sign on for 2017. Wright - gone Curren - gone Murdoch - good chance to get another 1-2 yea...

Re: Something I Don't Understand About Our Backline
Our selection is a weird one and Lee was originally dropped because he didnt play tight on Cameron like he was asked to. personally i would liked to have seen 3 talls against the crows considering they had Jenkins, Walker and Lynch. As much as Gilbo has been a servant to the club im not sure on the ...

Re: Changes v Blues Rd 12
i heard Nathan Wright was fantastic on the weekend. IN - Acres, Lee, Wright, Mitchnington (sorry for the spelling). OUT- Murdoch (cant find the footy and too slow), Goddard (inj), Paddy (rest him for a month 2nd concussion of the season) and im not a Roberton fan and i think he needs a run around in...

Re: Nathan freeman hamstring tightness
I'm no expert but id honestly be looking at sending him to Europe or the US. The sport science tech they have over there runs rings around what we can offer. The other avenue id be exploring is seeing how Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart kept Harry Kewell fit. Now hes a player who suffered chro...

Re: Draft 2016
I don't have a problem with the Academies per se, the part I have trouble is with is the new bidding system which allows GWS and the Swans to gain multiple top end talent by just exchanging them for multiple later picks. With GWS it is made worse as since they were allowed more players on there lis...

The 10 marks is promising and the booming kick from outside 50. would happily watch him do that for the next 10 years.Griggsy wrote:2 goals, great pass to Bruce, and the clever tapon to Joey. Very smart footballer.

Re: Jade Gresham
Can someone explain to me what Gresham is? his role confuses me because he doesn't seem to cope with playing up forward. seems to get caught out a lot and his defensive/man marking seems suspect. I'm sure the kids going to be good, he statistically tested very very well at the combine and was highly...

Re: Sam Gilbert
Are people actually kidding about Gilbo? The blokes having a ripper of a season. hes been crucial in some of our wins. Even if we were to drop him we lose his height, versatility and the fact he gives 110% every week and plays what ever role is asked of him. Brandon White's not ready, Brodie Murdoch...

My inside source tells me its mainly due to the interrupted pre season and thats the same case for Rice and Mackenzie also. Goddard has apparently been training very well as of late and they want to bring him through the VFL first. sounds obvious but thats the info i was given.

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
The kids 19! takes a forward at least 3 seasons to show what theyve got and 4-5 to even start making their presence felt, give the kid 50-100 games. hes a power forward who needs the ball kicked to his advantage and then let him go to work. From the game play ive seen of him hes a powerful mover and...

Re: Is Dempster becoming a liability?
Dempster has been an amazing servant to the club theres no denying that but his first 2 games have been very underwhelming. Although i dont think its entirely his fault. To be honest, you have 2 half backs in roberton and savage who's disposal at times is questionable and puts us under the pump so t...

If you watch his highlights from the North game, despite only 11 touches they were all pretty classy. http://www.saints.com.au/video/2016-02-22/jade-gresham-nab-spotlight Good in close with incisive handballs, he can kick both sides - put a beautiful kick lace out to Tommy Lee. He looks very clean ...

Stewie Loewe has a few sons playing at Beauy and Hailibury. Steven Sziller son is apparently pretty decent but is also a keen cricketer. Brett Voss has a son in the academy apparently. 2 pick 14 (or it will go to someone like Jimmy Webster) 10 Mav Weller 13 Lonie 22 Carlisle 23 Bruce 37 Rice (someone said that was his dads number) not sure what number Freeman gets though. I wouldnt be surprised if he got 35 or something like that in the 30's. Honestly id be saving 12 and 25 for ei...
