Re: Is the only way forward - South?

Surely it would be a first that a team is awarded a priority pick when they didn't finish last? 2007, Carlton picked up Kreuzer with a PP after tigers finished bottom. Carlton had picks 1 and 3, traded 3 for Judd (Masten) along with Josh Kennedy. Tigers picked Cotchin at pick 2. Clearly in the best...

Incorrect spelling.

It's Noone with 2 o's.

He plays for Sandringham. Good effort.

Re: Jake Carlisle

Id suggest Hawthorn will have an almight crack, they'll have pick 15-20 and could easily throw in a Suckling type player to get it don. They retire Lake and push on Suckling and suddenly they have a deal that could get it done. If he nominates us great, but I think we are less likely we everyone el...

Re: Jake Carlisle

Can he play midfield? Is he a fast, outside goal kicker?! Nah, but in all seriousness I'm a Carlisle fan and he would be a great get. Just think we need more quality mids and the rest can look after itself. I'd be happy to part with our 2nd pick. Our first is untouchable. While Collingwood load up w...

Re: Suns to look for mature recruits, says Eade

3 years ago, the GCS were going to win the flag next year. 2016 onwards was their 10 year dominance with GWS apparently. Now Eade is looking to top up with mature ager's in a side that finished bottom 4. They are stuffed. They will not become the dominant force all the 'experts' agreed upon, and the...

Geez, I know a lot of us over rate our players, but that is a big call on Minchington. Has to cement his spot first before he is considered Captain material.

Re: What do we need and what can we offer?

Tom Lee ain't going anywhere. Unless we got offered something waaay to good to pass up. One of the insiders on Big footy said he might want to leave and ask for a trade because he won't play next year on the back of signing Fisher and Dempster up again. He's been badly managed by the Saints and I t...

Re: Enough to make you feel sick...

Carlton will end up with pick 2 and 3 if Kruezer leaves. Throw in Sydney and GWS getting a player each rated in the top five kids in the country before us. Really you can't compete with this bulls***. If they get offered enough its the rules. Not that hard to understand. Easy fix though. if everyth...

Re: Sam gets to play for 2 more years

Good news. Obviously wants to stay and the club think he is more value with us than trading away. We are better with him in the side than out of the side. Agree, easily in our best 22 Easily in our best half dozen IMO.. And thats without a top 10 B&F for 3 years!!!.. :D 5 years. And define 'eas...

Re: That brand of utter garbage football..

Next year's benchmark should be to finish the season with 11 wins. Much like I thought those that anticipated 6+ wins this were dreaming, I firmly believe 11 wins next year is flying pigs likelihood. Will be lucky to match this years effort. Which I don't entirely mind. Ready to jump to finals cont...

I get a bit of a Scully impression when I watch Kelly.

Looks a great runner and link player, not sure about his Billings, Bont etc type game breaking ability.

Id rather Crouch or Bennell.
Bennell without question.

Crouch is an excellent ball winner (contested) but average by foot and doesn't break lines enough. We have enough of those types.

Bennell is pretty much exactly what we need. Unfortunately, doesn't look like coming to us.

Re: is this the worst opinion piece for the year?

If we can pinch Jimmy Toumpas (taken ahead of Wines and Stringer) from them for our 3rd or 4th rounder, then that should even up the debate a little bit.

*not entirely joking, I'd take Toumpas for a next to nothing price, and I think the Dees would be happy to offload him.

Re: the Winners - Fox - St Kilda- 1982

Those better informed will be able to answer definitively, was that Cox fellow in the backline a quality footballer??

That match was before my time, but watching him in that short segment he seemed a real player with height, skill and dash.

Thommo looked very likely too if not a little ungainly.

Re: Why Paddy_ Emma Quayle Book- exerpt

The most important part of the article is, fundamentally, they thought Paddy was the best player in the draft.
All the other stuff is great insight, and will hold Paddy & the club in good shape, but that one aspect is the only non negotiable.
