Re: The Ben Long Appeal
Other team's players have got off for far worse but because Long has been labelled a "maniac" by the media and due his overt tough player persona its sets him up to be an easy target for the AFL to ram home their agenda Its no different from Baker Yes, he has form going back to his VFL da...

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
https://www.facebook.com/79666748182/posts/10158260827463183/ We will see plenty of this at Marvel the next 5 years. Saints fans will appreciate this gut running more when watched live at the ground. It takes just as much courage to gut run like this all game than to put your head over the ball all...

Re: I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
He's a gun ... averaging 270 more metres gained than Long (390 odd to 120 odd) ... and approximately 6.5 more possessions per game (approx 19/game vs 12.5 only for Long). We might have a lot of hb flankers - but this guy is special. We should nevertheless focus on gun midfielders. foot note: Savage...

Re: Team vs Hawks
Really unimpressed with this Looks to me like Ratten’s preoccupation with small forwards is going to cost us badly. Cannot believe Carlisle misses again or that Kent survives. We’re persevering with a structure that doesn’t work and gambling on the most inconsistent and limited players in the harde...

Not really, King has taken Bruce’s goals and Butler is kicking the ones everyone else used to miss.johnearljames wrote: ↑Thu 03 Sep 2020 3:17pmButler and King have taken a lot goals away from him. Its a really good thing actually.

No room for Webster, prefer current incumbents. Can see Dunstan playing a part in our midfield now that we have better quality, speed and skill around him.

Re: Billings and King
Billings is not the problem. We need more Billings. A guy having a bad day against a top 4 side and then almost turns the game in the last quarter and people want to trade him? Does he need to get more consistent or do our inside / main on ball midfielders need to get more consistent? I reckon Billi...

Re: I blame one person
We can make all the excuses we like but, we were good enough to get 5 goals up on North and 6 up on Freo and then capitulated. We’re so mentally weak. We get ahead of ourselves and will only ski down hill. You haven't got a clue and just sound like a footy groupie. The team was extremely disadvanta...

Re: The under contributing small’ish forward
Gresh should be a small forward punch hitting in the middle. Not a starting on baller resting in the bench. Drop Kent give Brynes/Bytel a crack in the middle. Worked ok for Selwood/Worpel to play mid in their first years.

Saints hack it forward and turn it over. Freo calmly pin pass the ball down the field for the match winner.

Barry, If you believe EFL and A Grade Ammos is Park footy you are are clueless. Best footy outside the VFL (semi professional) in Victoria I played with and against numerous ex or soon to be AFL players and a lot of players on up to $1000 a game (and that was 20 years ago). And I played in the TFL,...

Re: Seb Ross
This discussion contains a lot of tedious to-ing and fro-ing which is to little avail. As I stated early on in this thread, I am convinced that under Brett Ratten Seb Ross will break-out to elite level this year, it is simply a matter of fine tuning his decision making and disposal skills, and if t...

“I don’t think people underrate Seb” The in the next sentence talk about all his deficiencies and compare him to the absolute elite of the competition. What skill he does possess, is that he can win the footy, which is the most important skill in footy, because without it your not even getting a ki...
