Re: Cyril to Hill.....game over!!

That's 12 flags for Hawthorn since 1971. One premiership in less than every 4 years.
You have to respect and admire that.

Re: Bring a mate for free

Late in the last quarter they stated on the scoreboard the number of members that were at the game.

The figure was around 9,500 so that means that over 21,000 members weren't there.

I know it was Easter Sunday but having less than a third of your members at the first home game isn't great.

Re: Russell's Top 25 Saints

In order to be rated the best Saint ever I believe you must have longevity at that club. For that reason Stewart and Baldock are eliminated as they only played 127 and 119 games each respectively for the Saints. I'm not advocating quantity of games over quality of games , just that it is important t...

Re: Saintsational's favourite Saint - Barker or Jones Vote n

As a Saint favourite of all time only Nick Riewoldt can challenge Barks. If you look up loyalty & courage in the dictionary there should be a photo of Trevor next to both words. Holds the record for the most number of games ever without playing a final. Barely 6ft but played more than half his g...

Re: Saints- Pass or Fail for Trade Period?

Overall I am quite happy with the way things panned out. If it is true that GWS offered 4 & 7 in exchange for 1 & 21 , I am glad we didn't take it. Reading between the lines we will definitely take Petracca. If you look at his highlights reel , the kid can play. In addition we will get Membr...

Re: if we got Tom Boyd....

I believe the correct action is to look at Key forwards and build the team around them. Midfielders will come in the following drafts. In 2000 we drafted Roo and Kozi as key forwards. In the following draft we added the midfielders around them including Ball , Montagna , Dal Santo and Clarke etc. If...

Re: North offer Pick 26 & Luke for Dal

If we take the offer , then pick 26 can be sent to GWS for Bruce. So on effect we lose Dal but gain Delaney & Bruce. It would seem a fairly reasonable trade considering Dal would be 30 when next season starts. If however you can trade for Bruce with maybe our 3rd round ( pick 39 thereabouts) , y...

Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign

Absolutely keep Dal. For too long some of our best ever players have played at other clubs. ie Stewart , Ditterich , Lockett , Winmar , Goddard , Ball etc. You can destroy the fabric of the club by getting rid of such players as it shows the younger players that there is no loyalty. You don't see th...

The guy is 32 in December so no way.

We have had enough Richmond rejects over the years (Pattison, Fiora etc all the way back to Billy Barrott)

Use the pick on a young kid

Can't see heyne staying on the list let alone holding a position in the forward pocket.

If that is our back line next year I can see us having 20 goals getting kicked against us every week. There a 4 guys there that hardly played a game this year.

Parking at the MCG is only $ 8 and there is usually plenty available.

However if it has been raining parts of the car park may be closed.

There is very limited street parking.

I can't see why Dawson would be suspended. If you are talking about the incident in the last quarter with the Irishman all he did was spoil. He made absolutely no contact with the head.
