Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

I suspect that Ratts doesn't rate Bruce as much as some Saints fans, plus a more mature player like Bruce who hasn't played finals and is in a lowly team, will look at any opportunity offered to play in finals in the near future, and it usually means changing clubs. We will still be middle of the p...

Re: Gold coast draft package

Ok I see this differently. Draft picks are no longer attractive to GCS, as they have plenty. What they need now are mature players to help their draftees that come in for the next 3-5 years. Puts Ben King for 3 or 4 mature players back in the table for us in THIS draft. Or 2 mature players plus our...

And we are essentially rebuilding at a time of compromised drafts again. Great, I love the AFL, reactionary idiots.

Picks 2 and 20 this draft Pick 11 2020 draft Ist pick 2nd round 2020 Darwin zone 1 & 2 this year 3 picks in top 20 next year Crap That's bulls***, they decided to trade away all their players last year and now get special compensation for their idiocy. They gave away Lyons for nothing, sold Lyn...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

On Bigfooty one of the ITKs reckons we are resetting for 2021 and expect a drop off or stagnate next year. The scary thing is we are pretty close to a second full rebuild already. From our 2013 list we should have Geary, Roberton, Ross and Webster left after this trade period. That was 2 years into ...

Re: Two Ruckmen

I don't care as long as we don't hinder Marshall's development. He looks set for Brody Grundy like excellence. I hope we don't slow that down. He was our most exciting prospect for years.

Hawks always liked a big ruckman up front like Hale who could spill the ball.

Re: David Rath

Rath and Balme are poles apart. Totally different roles. Rath is 100% hands on - Balme is 100% hands off. Rath doesn't oversee things - he does things. What ever he does sounds like he'll be busy. In his new role, Rath will oversee St Kilda's assistant coaches, development coaches and football anal...

Re: Plenty of changes still to come

We'd be nuts to trade Lonie or Long and I don't believe we will. Some one had suggested that the Dogs want one of our small forwards, Is that what you're referring to? I think people have mentioned everyone from those two to Parker. Also mentioned Mc Kenzie and Paton available. I think a small forw...

Re: Plenty of changes still to come

must admit that after the past two seasons, I have little attachment to anyone on the saints list, so not concerned who is part of discussions. We have accumulated alot of similiar level players. I.e. we have an even team of b's but none have turned into A's. That's true, Gresham seems to have been...

Re: Money buys skill, fitness and flags

It would be good if the equalisation addressed free agency benefits to the top clubs and the zones for academies are really uneven and unfair. If we could bank money in a war chest it would make rebuilding quicker as you could blow top teams away with big front loaded contracts to tempt players acro...

A new Big Footy poster that claims some inside knowledge reckons we are still trying to trade our Carlisle this year and he'll be gone if a good deal can be raised. Said we are trying to "work out who's been naughty and who's been nice". He says he won't see out his contract or at least w...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

I think we are making list management decisions based around a player we don't yet have. One of the BF ITKs said Bruce was only going to be given up to use as part of the trade for Ben King. It seems we dangled Bruce and Carlisle out to see if he could get a bite in order to have some currency, unfo...

On Bigfooty there are a couple of WA guys who watch local footy, St Cicatriz who I think used to be Defacto on here back in the day would have had Pickett, Liam Ryan, Tim Kelly, Menagola and a few other WAFL players at the club if he had his way. Another guy was begging for Mc Govern saying he was a...

Re: Where will Newnes go and what do we get for Jill?

He started last year with bad shoulders and hasn't been able to tackle since, he also missed the entire preseason. I think he'll go some where and be a good player. He's no star but he's a solid Jack of all trades utility when fit. We don't really have spot for him with the kids we need to develop a...

Re: No Saints players suspended in 2019

The last game with any real niggle from us as a side was the Carlton, Carlisle, Captain Cuck match I think. The club pushed the players under the bus and stamped out any passion at that point. We seem to have never really got it back since. With out Bruce and Steven the club is going to be particula...

Re: David Rath

Rath seems like a good appointment. We need someone to oversee various football department roles in the way Neil Balme does it at Richmond. All areas of their club are in alignment and VFL and AFL sides play the same way with the same expectations. IMO we look a bit rudderless in our football depart...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

Someone who claims some inside knowledge on Bigfooty just suggested Lethelean and Bruce didn't get along. I think this sounds like a power play by Lethlean. Also Gresham sounds like he was shopped around but only for overs. Might be a full on second rebuild with most of the older and mid career guys...

Re: Bruce Requests trade to Dogs

Bruce's kicking got me down a bit at times, but hell - what a warrior, and what a heart-and-soul player. You couldn't accuse him of giving any less than 110% every time he played. I am extremely disappointed to lose him. His physical presence was enormous, and seldom did he let a pack go without be...

Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season

It would be irresponsible not to heavily front load the contracts of the high priced players. you use it or lose it. Hickey was on huge money so would have left a big hole. Other s*** clubs get good players. We should have gone after Lauchie Neale instead, at least he was still top of his game. I c...
