Anyone for a game in Darwin? Either pre-season or H & A against Bulldogs

I think I am delusional but I will forward it to Andrew.
Not bad, but make two adjustments Freo home and bulldogs once (you seem to have us playing eight teams twice)

I'd totally go for that draw....

My wish is for 1 game only in Perth and Adelaide only 1 game in either Sydney or Brisbane, Port here, Freo here, less Friday night games and no Sunday twilight games (pain in the arse).
Nooooooooooooooooo

We are the only Victorian club with 11 games at our actual home ground..why give that away?? Our reserved seat and Social Club facilities are compromised there, and for corporate arrangements a one-off homoe game there is a pain.

Invariably it would be against a Club like Essendon, Collingwood or Carlton..who if on a roll will outnumber us for crowd support at OUR home game!!
Sorry to double post - I would love to play more games at the MCG. Five or six would be nice. The breakdown could be 12 telstra, 6 MCG, 4 interstate.... possible. One trip to Perth (preferably eagles) and one trip to adelaide (preferably adelaide) If we could avoid playing both those teams at the dome, I'd also like that....

I'm trying to deivse a good St.KIlda draw which would also be likely for us.

I'll post it on here and everyone can let me know their thoughts when its done.

Mmm. Here's my wish list of what should happen:

*Home game Rounds 1 and 22 would be nice. We havent had that since 2004, so we are due for one soon.

*1 game in Perth this year. We always seem to be going over twice every year. 1 game in Brisbane, Sydney and 2 in Adelaide. We haven't played Adelaide in SA since 2004, excluding the Qualifying Final in 05, so we will play there next year at least once.

*Play Sydney at Telstra Stadium again. I would make the journey up there again, its a great place to play footy at.

*11 Home games at the Dome. 17 games in Melbourne, 3-5 those being at MCG.

*More Saturday and Saturday Night matches.

*Few Sunday matches if possible, including twilight.

*If Easter is being played next year, a Easter Monday clash against Richmond could be started again.

Any thoughts?????

Some of what I would like to see;

The Easter Thursday opener home at TD v one ot the larger Melb based clubs (Rich, Coll, Ess). It looks like Haw & Carl have wriggled their way into the Good Friday slot.

Rd 2 as an away game at either TD or MCG

Considering the drawing power of Coll, Ess, Rich & Carl, return matches v at least 2 and possibly 3 of these

Keep 6 day breaks to a max of 5

Return games v Geelong, both at TD as a permanent fixture (Both at prime times both within the season and Fri and/or Sat might)

Both Rd's 21 & 22 to be played in melb

4 Interstate games spread evenly throughout the season

Please feel free to add to this

OES77, You get a 7/10 for your fixture !!

Only 7? I bet I could improve on that... i gave us a fair few Sundays cos I reckon we'll be punished for our low attendances in primetime slots like Saturday and Friday...

This in turn made the six day breaks hard to limit.... I also think we should get four interstate.

Let's see if I can tweak it and get a better score.

1 - Richmond - TD - Thursday Night - HOME
2 - Carlton - TD - Friday Night - AWAY
3 - Collingwood - MCG - Saturday Night - AWAY
4 - Adelaide - AAMI - Saturday Afternoon - AWAY

5 - Kangaroos - TD - Saturday night - HOME
6 - Geelong - TD - Saturday Night - HOME

7 - Bulldogs - TD - Sunday Afternoon - AWAY

8 - Sydney - TD - Saturday Afternoon - HOME

9 - West Coast - SUBIACO - Saturday Night - AWAY
10 - Essendon - MCG - Saturday Afternoon - AWAY

11 - Fremantle - TD - Saturday NIght - HOME
12 - Melbourne - TD - Friday Night - HOME

13 - Brisbane - GABBA - Saturday NIght - AWAY
14 - Hawthorn - MCG - Sunday Early - AWAY

15 - Port Adelaide - TD - Sunday Afternoon - HOME
16 - Collingwood - TD - Sunday Twilight - HOME

17 - Geelong - TD - Saturday Night - AWAY
18 - Sydney - TS - Saturday Night - AWAY

19 - Carlton - TD - Saturday Night - HOME
20 - Bulldogs - TD - Saturday Afternoon - HOME

21 - Richmond - MCG - Friday Night - AWAY

22 - Essendon - TD - Sunday Twilight - HOME

ok, I think everyone will like this one.... Every one of your criteria was filled Eastern... I like this one better too.

4 matches on Thursday or Friday Nights - still good result considering our poor season.

4 interstate in rounds 4, 9, 13 and 18... last FOUR in melbourne, first two at TD, three in melbuorne, FOURTEEN games at Telstra Dome (11 home plus away against Blues, Bulldogs and Geelong), play big four twice! Don't play Freo in Perth, Port in Adelaide... play only one interstate twice (sydney)

And as you can see by highlighted games, NEVER more than two in a row away from TD, and ONLY FOUR SIX DAY BREAKS!

This won't happen in a million years but boy, how good would it be if it did?!

I would love that draw. I'll give you a 9 for that. You'll only get a 10 if you can come up with a draw that's better than what Collingwood get !!

I think the worst we could do is 6 interstate next year - surely though, they won't give us away games against port and freo.... that would NOT be fair.

They wouldn't draw us to play Hawthorn in tassie, Roos in GC, Dogs in Darwin or Dees or Dogs in Canberra - so we won't travel more than 6 times and we finsihed 9th, one place worse than last year - I don't think they'll punish us as much as some people here think.

More Sunday games proabbly but that's about it.

I predict:

4 interstate

12 telstra dome

4 MCG

10 - Essendon - MCG - Saturday Afternoon - AWAY
[/quote]

that's one you probably WON'T get.

we only play 4 Home matches at the "g" every year and 3 of them are coll,carl,rich..... we base it on the previsou years attendances at matches, the 4th spot went to hawthorn last year . 2008 might see the same or maybe the cats who we got a good crowd at the dome against

I understand they ask for as many MCG away games as possible for this very reason.

Its not exactly rocket science.

I too would like to see the Saints play in a Darwin game, but preferably in the pre-season competition.
