I would imagine the Adelaide Oval would have more powerful lights than 240 lux, but I'm not sure what they did there a few years ago.

The list for an aligned side is 45 with up to 6 supplementary players (similar to Rookie list in a way) for a non aligned club i think it is 55+

I also just noticed on the Scorpions Website a photogallery has been added! just a few from preseason training.

The Scorpions schedule for the practice games is as follows;

Sat 8th March - Casey v Sandringham at Casey Fields. (Seniors at 5:15pm, Reserves at 7:45pm)

obviously giving the reserves a chance to practice under the lights on March the 8th.
Big day at Casey Fields on 8 March.

At 2pm we have the NAB Challenge game between two Melbourne based AFL clubs. There were over 10,000 people there last year when Hawthorn played Essendon.

That is followed by the Scorps practice match against Sandy, with the reserves on after that.

Saintbrat is right - the reserves will get to play under the new lights!
I can't wait Caseyscorp, by the way, do you think they could find enough parking to get 10,000 people into the Frankston ground? what if the Saints wanted to have a big pracky match there, like the Bombers & Hawks last year?? but at least they've got that lovely view!! eh?

You wouldn't have to worry about getting parking for 10,000 people at Frankston, because the ground couldn't hold that many people. If they all arrived and tried to park, they'd be parked half way to Olivers Hill. When they walked all the way to the ground, and found they couldn't get in, it would be a long walk back.

I don't think we'll ever see a NAB match at Frankston - it's just not up to scratch.

If the Saints wanted to have a practice match there (like this Friday - intraclub only) they'd probably wouldn't even fit in the crowd of maybe 4-5,000. Parking would be a nightmare, like it is when Frankston matches get anything like 2,000 spectators.

You'd reckon they'd know their coaches name though wouldn't you?

See "The Club" menu, and Contact Us.

Craig Hutchison is the new coach. Someone better tell Greg.

Having a look at the football executive,it looks a bit old hat with some personal there who are way past their time regarding their modern day football understanding. We need a couple of younger people like Jason Caples who underestand the younger players.

Football has changed a lot since all of those old blokes took the field.

How could they possibly manage the football side of things.

Casey sign 6 TAC graduates!
The Scorpions are pleased to announce the signings of 6 TAC cup graduates from the Eastern Ranges, Dandenong Stingrays and Gippsland Power. The 6 boys all come with a solid background and we look forward to their continued development.

Runnig with the Slogans thread about the saints, the Scorpions look like they have a competition running where you can come up with a slogan that will be put on their 2008 bumper sticker.

If you win you get a Membership, Polo and Hat.

Just thought some might be interested who may not have enough money for a 2nd membership from the saints one, or a way to get involved etc!

Some details on the home page:

Isn't it good to see that a "cheap VFL website" such as the scorpions one is way, way better than the AFL/Telstra Porn site that masquerades as saints.com.au???

How tragic and sad it is for the AFL to sell themselves out to such an extent eh?

It's probably rare for VFL clubs to get much more than 500-700 or so, and that would very very good! I have also never seen a VFL club post their number of members on their website. Lets hope they can attract a few mor hundred before the season starts!
