Twilight would be much better - especially for those of us two hours behind. I have never gotten used to a midday start!

Huggins is welcome back under whatever name he chooses. At least he adds value to the forum (unlike Stonecold).

Re: Huggins+ Stonecold ban

You can read the ‘banter’ in the Animal Enclosure. This went beyond banter. Posts had multiple rule breaches for both of them and their ongoing dispute had taken over multiple threads in the forum stifling discussion and had escalated to a point where it could no longer be tolerated by the majority...

Re: McEvoy and Stanley.

I'm sick of seeing our players go to other clubs and do well. It's been happening since the Stewart/Barrott fiasco. I'd drag out all the premiership players and greats we've handed to others, but I think at this time it might push me over the edge. Save it for another post, or would someone take th...

I think our best combination by the end of the season could be Battle and Membrey as mobile mid-size forwards and Bruce as our tall forward.

Re: Paddy Vs Brisbane - Play by Play

Paddy is a stay at home forward .... More in the Alister Lynch mode ... If the Saints can get it right then they will change the way the game is played. If I was Richo I would look at the Lions early 2000s .. Adopt a Lynch, Brayshaw, Brown kind of set up where Paddy is Lynch, Bruce is Brayshaw and ...

Re: Paddy

Everyone, absolutely everyone had Paddy and Petracca as the top 2, with Brayshaw as an outsider. In fact it was Paddy who was mainly touted as the No.1, Petracca came into the conversation late. My recollection of that is completely the opposite and I followed it at the time as much as most people....

Re: Paddy

If he was a pick 50 he wouldn’t be getting a game. Cam Shenton actually showed more as a key forward. I would give him the game against North, but if he still shows nothing - back to the VFL. We can persist with him there. Get games into Battle.

Re: I want to be excited about the season.

I'm feeling up-beat and just can't wait for it all to start again. We were disappointing last year, but this year a lot of our young talent is hitting the right age bracket for playing their best footy. I have been a fanatical supporter since the early-mid seventies but only saw the Saints play live...

Re: POLL: Do you want AFLX to fail?

I don't want it to fail. A shortened version of the game seems inevitable, given how well 20/20 has gone. Smaller ovals and less time appeals to the modern consumer. I'd like to watch a couple of games before passing judgment. Well if it’s meant for overseas markets then test it there. Why the nega...

Re: POLL: Do you want AFLX to fail?

i assume they are wanting to develop it for overseas markets given the lack of suitable ovals for Aussie Rules to be played on there. I don't think its intended as a rival to the full game. Why the negativity towards it?!

Re: Why are Saints supporters so quiet at the footy?

Come to Perth...the 'Western Saints' organise a pub in Perth CBD to show the game on a big screen, but nobody ever turns up. They might get 4 men and a dog twice a year, or there's one guy who turns up at half-time because 'I don't wanna pay for parking and free parking is only 2 hours' he used to ...

Re: Best team of Saints players who have gone elsewhere

Anyone fancy putting together a team of Saints who came from other clubs and compare to this team? We haven't picked up anyone from another club that's been any good (well at least not as good as most of that team. I can only think of Hamill and Morris who played okay for us. Of the latest batch th...

I think that's right - D Wakelin, Perovic (2), Greene (3), Stewart, Hall, Ball, McEvoy (2), Rice and Malthouse.

Best team of Saints players who have gone elsewhere

This is the best team I could come up with of players who have started with us within the last 60 years and (after playing at least one game) have then left and played at least 50 games for another club: B: M. Lappin S Wakelin Malthouse HB: D Wakelin Perovic Daniels C: Greene Stewart Dal Santo HF: H...

Re: No one rates us

It’s not surprising . We don’t currently have any AA quality players . Whilst some say nobody rated Richmond this time last year, they had Dusty and Rance as genuine AAs strongly supported by Cotchin and Reiwoldt. We haven’t added any new players of recognised quality. Again, Richmond added Prestia...

I thought it was a great read - I read it over a day or two and usually a book takes me much longer. It wasn't your typical footy book - it was more about life in general, sharing the good and the bad.
