Really liked what I saw from Armo tonight. Hes super tough and takles like a rugby league half back. With Lenny out this is Armo's time. Should get more game time in the middle and his numbers should increase. Tonight his kicking skills looked elite at various stages - I remember some passes on the ...

How McEvoy is someone mentioned as a poor pick I have no idea. The kid (yes, kid) is still only 21 and plenty of development left. Personally I see him as a future leader of our club. Massive tank, big heart, great skills and improving tap work - give him 2-3 years and by the time hes 25 he'll be a ...

What about the mulitple decisions made that almost brought the club 2 Premierships:

Nick Dal Santo at pick 13 approx
Leigh Montagna pick 20-30 approx
James Gwilt pick 70 approx
Sam Fisher pick 40 approx
....and theres many more which could be named.

No one mentions those much.

Can play through the midfield or down back. Elite endurance and speed from the contest. Hard as nails and neat skills. Probably didnt go as high in the draft because he never posted huge posession numbers at the carnival, but the head of recruitment for GWS had him going top 15.

From hearing Ross over the last couple of weeks I think he was penciled in for rd 1 until he fell ill during the week. Further comments from Adam Kingsley and Ross last Sunday on SEN suggest Crippsy will play this Friday. May also be 1 other change.

Over the last 4 years since (basically since we've been top 4) we've drafted based on needs - for example Lynch, Heyne, Cahill etc were all drafted as a need to fill the 3rd Tall role. We're not going to try and turn Heyne into a half back flanker if we have numerous options already in this position...

I cant judge on his accuracy I dont know the stats, but from the footage he has a very natural, smooth and fluent kicking technique.

Obviously needs a couple of pre-seasons in the gym but he can take a grab and could turn into a very handy HFF/3rd Tall in the forward line.

Aryn Siposs

Have many of you seen this boy kick a football? One of the best set shots at goal I've seen in a long time. If only I felt this comfortable when the rest of our forward line take a set shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z56p6y2i-0g Im really excited by this kid. 188cm, strong mark and silky skills...

As Dennis Cometti said during the broadcast, Shane Tregear of Sandy Zebs mentioned to him Johnson has alot of potential but is a poor kick. Apparently he could become a very good AFL player but until this part of his game is fixed he wont make the team. What I liked about Archer was he had a red hot...

Spot on macdog. But I have a fear from our recent history we wont go for the obvious choices!

Harper or Lamb would add real X-Factor which we lack and Prestia would be AFL ready from Day1. He has real speed and great footskills.

I just pray we dont draft Wayde Skipper.......

Kieran Harper, Jed Lamb or Dion Prestia if he slides are my favourites. Phantom Draft has Cam Guthrie - I'd be dissapointed if this was the case. We need more spark around Half Forward - not another dour tagger.

Surely this is a joke?

Blake will go down as one of the most reliable defenders we've had, not to mention the fact he was top 5 for marks in the comp this year. Bakers determination and effort at the contest is second to none. Tom Lynch has played 1 game.

Put the schooner down Jabber.

Should be interesting. From history our recruiting department go into Drafts with a pre-set idea on who they are going to select at what pick. I remember we took Brad Howard in the 20's one year because we thought he might be gone by 50+. I suppose a lot of clubs do this. I wonder if Kane already ha...

I like the look of this kid! Beautiful foot skills left and right, clean hands and kicks goals! Couldnt give a rats about his height - you cant teach what hes got already. Definatly worth a punt.

Do we have preferential drafting rights to him like a Father-son? How can we pick him up?

The key for Tommy is to make optimal use of his strengths and avoid trying to be something he's not. Hes big, strong and powerful - thats what he should be trying to bring to the team. He will never have the footskills of a Goddard or the running of a Hayes or the marking of a Riewoldt, but what he ...

In terms of a 3rd Forward role I'd much prefer Tommy Lynch to be given first crack at trying to make this position his own. He was touted as the best lead up forward in his draft year and I expect him to be given alot more chances at cementing a spot in this role next year. Paul Cahill is still on t...

Reading between the lines I think Ross will be giving alot more game time to Armitage, Stanley, Miles, Smith.

We're in a tricky spot though - now (with the modified drafts) is not the time to be falling off the pace. Its going to happen eventually but hopefully not in the next 2-3 years!
