To the contrary. If we are to put together a solid post bye performance and push for finals representation this season, Gardiner is a requirement. As he is next year. He has just turned 32 and has 180 games under his belt. So his time out with injury means his body has not taken the battering of so...

ZAC YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE CLOWN!!! Bitter because Walls referred to him as an ordinary player who needed to pull his head in after the NZ incident? That was fair commentary. Try watching the footy and not your opponent, as you do constantly, and you may improve. Otherwise I'm waiting for Tommy Walsh t...

Re: Mark Maclure on AFL 360
Just saw AFL 360 and couldn't believe the garbage coming out of the mouth of Mark Maclure. Criticising the Saints and in particular Ross Lyon. Fair enough, disagree with the decision to play the older guys against Geelong Fair enough, criticise the game plan and blame it for the poor crowd BUT Comm...

Re: Top 6
We could end up 5th or 6th and get a home final versus Freo or the Swans (anyone but essendon). 5th will be hard to reach with the eagles playing good footy. But the Swans are vulnerable at 5th and the Hawks could be in serious injury trouble. That would mean copping eagles or hawks in week 2 . Bot...

Re: Jack Steven - Has The Penny Dropped?
Before this year Jack had played 9 games for these averages: 11.6 disposals (6.7 kicks, 4.9 handballs), 2.9 marks, 3.9 tackles; total 11 goals 2 behinds After five games this year, his stats were very little different to those of his career: 12.2 disposals (7.4 kicks, 4.8 handballs), 2.8 marks, 5.0...

Very impressed on how Ross handled the after match. No bitching or groaning. Keep the dirty linen in house. I am sure the players who needed to know that they have to improve got that message loud and clear, but there is no point in making this public. Some of the new generation will be firming up ...

Re: Riewoldt has to be Joking
5 possessions to three quarter time and not a yelp in the first 10 minutes of the final quarter when the game is in the balance. Time for the club to ask him to hand over the captaincy. I'm inclined to agree! I have thought this for a while. It's time to get over it for Roo, whatever his demons are...

Re: Polo
Just me or does Polo offer us more than what Gram can at the present? I think that Gram really has a fight on his hands to keep his spot. For me Polo is the better option and would like to see him back in the team next week. :? Not a chance. Another playing ordinary by foot. Foot speed and skill, i...

Whilst I agree that for the best team the draw does not generally matter, would the draw have made a difference to us in 2009? It cannot be denied that the draw is grossly inequitable. In an even season (such as 2005 when there were 4 genuinely even contenders) it could make the difference between f...

I couldn't give a rats about the Demons, only my beloved Saints. As I said if Ross Lyon believes that we can have a crack at the flag next year (I think we can, but he'd know better) then Goddard must be kept. However if we cannot challenge for the flag next year, we are faced with waiting 8 to 10 y...

Gary Lyon's article in The Age was thought provoking, and should not be dismissed if the Club (specifically Lyon) does not believe we can challenge for the flag in 2012. In my view we can challenge in 2012 and therefore Goddard must be kept. However, we have a shrewd coach and I'm sure he is smart e...
