How unusual for BM to find all negatives you must be lousy to live with!
Glass is always half full, we have some great kids, all footballers get injured.
Give the negatives a rest

I'm worried about the go home factor for Acres and Dunstan.

Apart from Cripps what interstate players have gone home in the last 10 years?

I didn't think he was being overly negative, thought he meant it more in the context that we may have got them cheaper than otherwise???slider wrote:How unusual for BM to find all negatives you must be lousy to live with!

I'm pretty sure about Jody Arnol wanted to get back to Tasmania.

I think the club put it in the back of his mind. If he had a mind.

Things have turned over the last couple of years. The Lions are a great example as is Cripps. The Ball effect? i.e. you can pick and choose where you play. The youngsters think that this applies to them. There is little stopping them. The go home factor is real however can probably be mitigated through good culture, support etcSaintPav wrote:None from us but plenty from other clubs.plugger66 wrote:SaintPav wrote:I'm worried about the go home factor for Acres and Dunstan.

A lot of the high draft picks this year have had injury concerns.
Boyd and Scharenberg have had their issues. Was Aish struggling with injury too?

Ok lets get it straight about about who was injured did it really matter
1) Boyd missed most of the season went no 1
3) Billings knee went no 3
4 ) Sharenberg feet went no 6
5) Aish Shoulders went no 7
6) Dom Sheed Collarbone went no 11
don't need to go on about it ...do we

one constant with all the go home factor kids is the fact they were not getting regular games .... play the kids and they will stay ... if they sit in the VFL they will be thinking to themselves heck i could do this at home ...SaintPav wrote:I'm worried about the go home factor for Acres and Dunstan.

I know where you're coming from Pav.SaintPav wrote:I'm worried about the go home factor for Acres and Dunstan.
However name 1 successful Victorian team that has not contained at least 1 talented Interstater?
When you realise that you won't be able to do that you'll further realsie that you'll just need to overcome that nervousness you have.
Great teams contain great players, and great players are born and raised throughout Australia. Talent, not geography, must be the key driver when it comes to recruitment.

No...but I think the point is as per the OP that with Dunstan and Acres that they probably slid due to it.lloyd21 wrote:Ok lets get it straight about about who was injured did it really matter

As we are not that fussed with results in 2014 (and indeed a low list finish will probably assist our rebuild), we can go slow and steady with their development, and so hopefully we have gained 3 very good picks by taking a longer term view.
So with the 3 we can rotate them through the team next year along with Ross, Saunders Curren etc so that everyone gets games, while the younger guys are not overloaded.
White for example was allowed to play the year out with Sandi. The three mids will probably already be ready to play some senior games next year.

I used to work with Billings' dad.
Very good dude. So for what it's worth, he comes from a good family.

Was I being negative?
Interesting take on it....
I think we drafted very well.... Traded pretty well to...
Thought we have drafted well since 2011 ..... Good work by our recruiting manager (elshaug) and list manager (Baines)

Are you a woman because you seem to change your mind quite a lot. You had many goes at the club during the trade period and even suggested clubs were laughing at us and also made a sacastic point that we will probably pick up Billings because he was a small forward. Now you are happy on both accounts. Good to see so i take it we wont have hindsight threads over the next couple of seasons on players we should have taken.

Still bullshitting and playing the man.... Hindsight my arse, you criticised me most for calling early?!
I see you still follow up every post of mine, if you had a clue about footy I would bother...
Everybody knows you're an antagonistic tool who has very little game knowledge so who care what you think really?!
