I wouldn't think so. Could you see the StKilda F.C. being a sub tenant to the StKilda C.C. as it was till 1961. Why do you think the Football Club gave the Junction the flick and moved to Moorabbin? So they could be masters of their own domain, that's why. Will never work when you are unable to make your own decisions.

In fact we've now got two of nine Commissioners on our side - Paul Bassat the other. Not sure that will help us though - they're all pretty hard-headed business types. Dollars will talk and we don't bring many in.
sam's a saints supporter.....as is her whole family......i used to work with her...
Three out of nine then! Surely Finnis can get something done with that sort of numerical dominance.

Well the first thing that was noticeable was the lack of a defensive tone from the new AFL CEO.

Vlad the Impaler always sounded like he was on the backfoot and had a vocal tone of defend and attack, whereas Gil McLachlan is more introspective in his thoughts.

And that's a start.

Good he has a so called soft spot for StKilda.

But very very disappointed to hear him state that one of his top priorities is to mend the rift with James Hird.
What he should be doing is outlining a tougher stance that Hird should be held accountable for (at best) gross mismanagement and is not a fit person to be an club official much less a senior coach.
Instead he seems to be grovelling.

Gillon has already worked closely with us before and therefore has a good grasp of what we're up against.

However, I'll wait to see before judging.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

I'm expecting Ross Oakley II.

You're whistling dixie if you think there will ever be an AFL CEO who will stick their neck out for struggling Victorian clubs.

He'll either start where Dimwit left off. Or worse.

My thoughts persactly, Enrico. Any half wit with corporate management training can let he fluffy stuff roll off their tongues without a hitch.

The truer indications come from them speaking about issues that have some real substance, and reflect their attitudes to the operation and governance of the entity where they ply their influence.

His statement about mending fences with Hird showed him to be a mealy mouthed adherent to the status quo. Given the gravity of what took place at E'dope, his words on that subject render all the references to his attachment or tendency to things StKilda to the realms of fantasy.
