It will be interesting to see if Jack Billings plays tomorrow night. Marshall missed the week after he had the same injury.

Ratten said Marshall would have played if it hadn’t been a five day break. Hopefully 9 days makes a difference.

Dunstan is now in that group that are too good for VFL, but not good enough at AFL.

He's been a great soldier over the journey. He's a depth player for us now. He knows it. Will keep working hard like in games like this that were tailor made for his style.

I dont think any of the other listed guys did near enough to be knocking the door down.

Dunstan.....slow, poor disposal. Always been that way. We need to recruit new young midfielders with elite speed and disposal.

Does anyone have access to the VFL game stats and can post them, or knows where to find them on the web?
It seems to be an area not done well for those of us interested in emerging players s across the competition.

Have needed to do so since 2010, they have had 11 drafts and still havent managed to draft an elite midfielder - utter rubbish how many they have got so wrong!

Byrnes and Bytel will be 100 game players. Whether either will ever be elite remains to be seen. Very promising though.

My saints source said Byrnes was the one to watch out for this year, then injury struck.

L D has ! senior match in 12 months + (and I think serious injury to recover from), roving to P. Hunter. Jury may be too quick to convict. WCE's Kelly didn't look too flash yesterday. Not that it's an apples/apples comparison, just trying to argue for Luke to get a fair trial.

Will not happen on this forum, unfortunately for Luke and probably the Saints community as a whole.

Dunstan had a much better game than Hill and many others last week, just some players are untouchable and others whipping boys.

Never been a huge fan of Dunstan but don't see the point of trading in a foreign legion of midfielders who aren't appreciably better and/or can't get on the park anyway.

Like Dunstan as a tough insider in the 22. But must be told to handball only. Another one of our poor disposalers. But then again Ratts instructs no system or structures so when Luke gets its a mystery what to do except kicking it long and high to a 1 on 2.

We are already carrying one midfielder like this in Ross. Has been told not to kick and almost always tries to give hands off instead. I don't think we can handle having two players in the side who can't kick.

Dunstan has to play next week or there is no selection integrity.

You have to promote those playing well and his game was dominant.

I’d say Ryder, Byrnes & Dunstan in and Connolly sub.

As long as ‘slips through his fingers’ is not selected.

He’s an inside mid (Dunstan)

Who should be out?? Crouch???

Surely you’re not advocating him playing on a Wing

He’s almost the slowest player on the list, with putrid disposal
How’s that going to cut it on the outside?!

Inside Midfield was good vs port
Equal in clearances and contested ball

It was HBs Wings HF’s we were smashed!!!
Uncontested ball is a huge problem
Both defensive and offensive

Getting picked apart easily while defending and not getting a kick when we have the footy.

Ross, Steele and Crouch were good enough inside

Hill and McKenzie were flogged on the outside
Jonas tore Higgins a new one
Amon gave Hill the mother of all hidings
Houston dominated
Burton beat Billings easily

Then there was the putrid efforts by the KFs
Embarrassed themselves

Agree with you about the flankers and HF’s.

Membrey did well for the minimal opportunities he had. I think they went to King on far too many occasions and Maxy had a shocker last night. That’s ok though, because when you invest in a number 4 draft pick you have no choice but to play him and give him experience.

Maybe if Dunstan plays, then Ross and Steele can replace some of the others who were poor and their form and confidence is down. Crouch struggled, as did Jones. Lonie isn’t contributing and when he does get it he has been wasteful most of this year.

I have been a supporter of Dunny's spot in a best 22 as I always thought he was AFL standard but I was wrong. His game against Richmond was the turning point for me. He was woefully out of his depth and he has had a good enough go at trying to prove himself.

Out of curiosity

Why were you a supporter of him?
