It is like Ross says, football is about what you do when you have Ball, what you do when you don't have Ball and what you do when Ball is in dispute.
You want to have Ball and use Ball wisely.

Tax on $600,000 is $247,000, which leaves them with a measly $353,000 or just under seven grand a week! I suppose if he was to spend $1000 a day he would be in trouble.matrixcutter wrote:i wonder what the tax is like on 600 grand?
As of the 08/09 Financial Year, maximum super contributions for under 50 year olds was $50,000. This has now halved for 09/10, so most of it is still taxed at a higher bracket. Smart investing in property and businesses is what sets up footballers today.perfectionist wrote:Tax on $600,000 is $247,000, which leaves them with a measly $353,000 or just under seven grand a week! Salary sacrifice? Yep, a fair bit would (should) be going into their super funds which reduces their taxable income and is taxed at 15 cents in the dollar in the fund. But no doubt they will also be investing so as to derive an income between the time they retire from football and when they turn 60 and can access their super (currently for them). Of course, training for a profession after football (like Luke Ball has done) is the most sensible thing a player could do.
tis very strange...and poor form!aussierules0k wrote:Fortius Quo Fidelius
We get fed a rumour by some talking head that one of our champs might want to leave.
Next thing our "fans" are blurting... "Well stuff him, if he wants to go - good riddance".
Not a very loyal attitude.
