Re: Game against WB
As with all games I seriously want a win, but would really love it even more if we won after coming back from a long way behind again.

Re: Game against WB
I definitely 100% want to win and always do. Will be annoyed if we lose but will console myself by thinking "better draft pick".

Re: Saints Inner sanctum- Robbo
Didn't hear what he said, so need to qualify comments based on that - I don't mind him criticising us, as long as he's got his facts right. But if he said that Rhys didn't perform as well at Saints because of culture, that's complete BS. First, he hasn't done that much more yet at Cats than he did w...

Re: Decisions and actions that cost the Saints a Flag
Smith was a highlight reel in 1997.... This thread sucks just so you know. I agree with you there. On both counts. I agree, it sucks big time. Bad enough to relive 71 and 97 (haven't stopped reliving 09 & 10 yet), but any thread that gets me traumatised over 1913 has got some serious suckage po...

Swapping Ian Stewart for Billy Barrott. And I reckon the Ball/Judd one might've cost us about 4 premierships.

Re: I need help
I just don't get the decisiveness that Bill is a better ruck prospect than Tom. Before injuring his knee last year in rd 6, Tom was tracking fine. He really will be looked at by clubs who know what he's capable of in the middle. It's got me stumped. http://i59.tinypic.com/16bijbc.jpg I agree that B...

Re: I need help
Im sure everyone knows that but can someone explain why Longer is still playing and poor Hickey gets subbed 2 weeks in a row. Hickey isn't a forward and the coaches surely know that but if you play him then keep him playing or don't play him at all. If injured I apologise. In the mean time Longer g...

Re: Umpires must be reviewed.
We may have got one Saturday and whilst we are no good we will continue to get the poorer umpires. If the AFL are sending poorer umpires to our games then that is one of the more stupid things they've done. The umpires should be assigned to teams as evenly as possible over the course of the season....

Re: Umpires must be reviewed.
West Coast are the "best" club in the competition for milking free kicks. This goes back more than a decade. Almost every year they are in top three clubs for favourable free kicks differential, and over the decade are miles in front. (There was a thread on this a couple of years ago and ...

Re: Review - Saints vs Crows
History and numbers show that there wil be a MINIMUM of 8-10 changes to the list by 2018ish, regardless of whether they'll be in premiership contention or not. This isn't glass half-empty, it's just fact. The discussion is "who" not "whether or not".

No McCartin or Goddard. :( I see Lamb has been named at CHF for the Eagles. His non-selection is going to piss me off I think. A big mistake. This upset me too but at least we got Goddard who will be a beauty. We really need to invest in players that have Saints in their bloodlines that are showing...

Re: Screwed over by Etihad - thanks Jimmy!
Why did they, us etc sign such a s*** deal instead of going to the G? Or developing Moorabbin. Seriously I they are so bad on paper, why sign it? I cant answer that but lets face it Moorabbin wasn't an option. As for the G I suppose they need to want us and we were a pretty ordinary side back then ...

Bad for Farren - a good team man and seems like a good bloke. However, not a disaster for the club. Will make no difference to win/loss and gives a kid an opportunity.

Re: Rucking issues
Everything the club says about wanting to be more competitive and win more games makes sense from a membership/sponsorship perspective, and is what they have to say, but a lot of what they've been doing doesn't reflect this. The rucking situation seems to be one of those situations - ie trade out ou...

Re: The wooing of the St Kilda faithful
I agree with the OP. Lets face it, the supporter base was shattered after the long sought 2nd premiership slipped through the clubs fingers not once but twice. It was our time, we had waited nearly 50 years for a second flag and we were all crushed. Now bigger clubs get their membership through suc...

Re: A Little More Draft Analysis
Whether we lose Jack or not, there's no rush to get an expensive FA in yet. We'll be crap for a few more years so use the early draft picks over the next few years on the best mids (especially if we get pick 2 for Jack) then chase an FA when we're closer to contending.

Re: Saints homeward bound!!
St Kilda is a funky place but we are already St Kilda. If there is a buck to be made from merchandising this fact we should already be making it. If kids are going to buy St Kilda gear it will be because of the name, the colours, the design and the success of the team that wears it. They are not go...

Re: Our favourite Saint - Dal Santo or Baker - Vote now
Loved Baker when he played, hated how he got shafted by the tribunal (Kickett incident, the tall idiot from Essendon standing on him, suspended for a jumper punch etc etc), but now I'm really struggling to get past his confessions in the Mike Sheahan interview. We'd hate a thug like that if he playe...
