Re: This article just about sums it up.

Cross my heart 23 Jun , 2019 No Comments Share By Tom Briglia Thanks very much for the plug Rubyjo. Apologies for the bump nearly a week later. I think this week’s review might be a little more resigned and/or subdued. This arc is spluttering towards a conclusion rather than hurtling, and it’s a ve...

Re: Jax....u hearing this?

Nope. Theres no loophole in this contract. If Richo is fired in the first season of the contract he gets full compensation for 2019 and 25% for 2020. I'm not going to say I've seen the contract but I know who has and if he hadn't signed it he would have been let go mid season and caretaker coach wa...

Re: Jaxons come on down

What's the family link there? Cathal was picked up the Saints in the 2005 Rookie Draft (and turfed a year later). If Brian's 4am tweet this morning is correct is Aidan Corr the family link mentioned previously? That is a very tenuous family link and not sure what element would rate as "reuniti...

...Surely it's in the wording for those who think it's JRoo/BJ: Before anyone gets too excited, I will preface this by saying as I have said before, lots of chatter takes place and many things don't come to fruition. However talks are strong that could very well see families come together at the Sai...

Re: Alternate strip? 1914 style

hated the candy strpie.... ugly and looked like an american 50s carnival/fair type uniform. hardly imposing. i love the traditional jumper and the inverse as the away jumper... white back that simple That's definitely the dream. I'd secretly love red numbers on a white back to accentuate the contra...

Re: Alternate strip? 1914 style

A black version of our current clash would be a great home strip. It's not just the actual design of the strip, but the fact that it's based on a jumper we wore over 100 years ago (1893-1914, post-original candy stripe and pre-red/yellow/black WW1 version) that makes it even better. Also shows up ho...

Re: Booing goodes

For anyone saying it was to do with the free kicks - that's absolute crap; the loudest boos for him were the first couple of times he got the footy (sitting in the middle of the members it was very noticeable). It quietened down but then came back in the second half - of course people were booing th...

Re: VFL Rd 19 Sandringham Vs Geelong- media coverage

Late in the second quarter - Simpkin's famous head clashed with Siposs and Siposs has been stretchered off as a result - was talking and moving very soon after it appears to be not too bad considering the circumstances.

Re: VFL Rd 19 Sandringham Vs Geelong- media coverage

Quarter time - haphazard observations from watching the stream Sandy up 5.3.33 to 3.0.18. - Pierce has been busy - a little undersized against Dawson Simpson but covering the ground well - McCartin worked hard up the ground a couple of times to get the footy and would have appreciated some more favo...

Re: VFL Rd 19 Sandringham Vs Geelong- media coverage

Simpkin takes the mark from a kick-out and his kick back inside 50 has Paddy reading it beautifully and floating across a pack for a nice mark and goal. Lewis Pierce busy early as well.

Siposs bullet pass out of the middle to Spencer on the lead who kicks the first from on 50. Nice start from two more-or-less forgotten guys.

Was training with the main group spasmodically, with swimming sessions and work in the altitude room on the harness treadmill. Re: Saints biggest wins

Didn't we have a big win over Sydney at the SCG in 1998? I thought we won by 101 points or something? The players all linked arms & formed a huge line up after the game. Yep, huge win in Round 10. Sziller with 6 as mentioned and Sierakowski with 3 himself. Lockett actually kicked 4 at the other...

Re: Saints biggest wins

That 2012 win over GWS was the game we should have smashed the 2005 record, and possibly a few more in the wider competition. We kicked only 2.1 in the third quarter and a wayward 6.6 in the last, and against probably the weakest team we'll ever play against given their circumstances. St Kilda 7.2.4...

Might be a little pre-planned, following on from Paddy and Hugh having the week off recently. Obviously Spence and Saad aren't first years but might need a break nonetheless?

Does anyone know what Saunders is doing in the Dev League? Pierce was named in it as well, but both (as well as Kenny Ong) were listed in both the VFL and Dev League teams during the week.

Re: Dogs are ripe for the picking

Reminds me a *little bit* when looking for an analogue of our win against West Coast in Round 6 of 1998. That was the day that Healy and Everitt each kicked 6 and we kicked eight in the last quarter to run over the top with Mitchell kicking the winner in the last minute...and we played the Brisbane ...

Re: Great work on the clash jumpers.

I like the current clash jumper, but it's just a variation on the candy stripe which was a much better at avoiding a clash. So why were we told not to use the candy stripe?! I think the candy stripe might have fallen over because there were more stripes, making it darker, black cuffs and the stripe...

Re: Round 15 2006 v Essendon on now

This was a really interesting one. Rubbish Bombers team at the time, and we were in the top four after the match - but as usual they gave us some grief and Johnson missed a gimme 20 metres out early in the last which surely would have sealed it in the wet for them. Gehrig put us in front with about ...

Re: St Kilda announcement - Tues morning

Yeah, I had really good mail that Mitsubishi were in to us big time but I must admit it looks unlikely. I also heard we had quite a few discussions with Audi so maybe in the future. At least I got a lot of laughs with the P76. Well maybe Mistubishi might have had a hand in this the whole time - Dar...
