They're too skilled and too physically strong. How is a thin player like Gilbert supposed to win a contested ball against someone like Ling! I would say 8 out of 10 times Gilbert would lose. With those tanked skillful players against our frail army of Dal Santo, Gilbert, C.Gardiner, X.Clarke....etc ...

West Coast and Sydney had these fast, relatively thin players who would zip around the ground. The game seemed to be moving toward that kind of player. Cousins and Judd compared to Ling and Bartel? The latter are are just solid rocks. Geelong have these muscular, well balanced, built like brick shit...
