medhurst didak l. davis thomas vs mcqualter eddy birss geary with baker on the bench - to take Burns if needed or swing onto a small forward. Blake and Fisher will take Cloke and Anthony. Gilbert will be our swingman - can play back either tall or small and may be necessary if we want to swing Blake...

The umpiring was disgraceful. However I saw something today that really surprised me. Saints fans with paid seats leaving when we were one or two goals down (with plenty of time to play) and yelling abuse at the umpires as they left. They simply could not watch the game of footy with any sense of en...

great tagging job BUT I stillhave one criticism of how he tags - he watches his player and not the play and a number of times the ball is free and his to claim but instead he is focussed on his opponent see 8 minute mark last quarter for an example ... even when tagging ... when it is your turn to g...

Bradley VS Harvey on 3AW friday

I am pre-warning Saints fans to get behind Banger when pre match this friday night 3AW debates and opens the lines (i hope) on who was better - Craig Bradley or Robert Harvey ... very interesting comparison between these two champions. It will be interesting how they stack up stats wise so anyone th...

yes gwilt played well as i say it would have been a tough choice between gwilt and gilbert gilbert deserved to be dropped but with a longer term view if i had to make a choice to fit birss in ... if I was coach i may have selected gilbert ... not based on form because gwilt's form ast week was bette...

totally mismatched to North with too many medium / talls North structure up similar to Collingwood in their forward line and we are going to get punished by their medium short forwards ... Birss should have been selected for either Gilbert or Gwilt On last weeks form Gilbert should have been chopped...

couple of quick comments eddy wouldnt be a aussie jones / jason gram style running back ... in fact that has been half of our tacticle problem trying to "release" a running back ... Ummmm I think the opposition MAY have worked that out. Instead Birss and Eddy would be run with players taki...

oh if Schneider is injured then Milne would come in

Schneider gets my nod when fit because he offers more flexibility

Better than Milne in the midfield and can play back flank too

Mixing it up this week

One of the things that has made us easy beats is that we have been playing the same structure and many of the same players in the same positions for years and so we have become easy to plan against ... and without creativity from the coaches box we have just had the same old players trying to do the...

in 2004 we played head over the ball or hit the man "unsociable footy" which is Buckley's term for footy with mongrel with bumps and tackles that hurt and we had almost a report a week ... in 2008 we peel off, chase and tag and stand off rather than go hard ... and Sheedy calls us Marshmel...

for the record I did not say / think we should sack Lyon. Actually he is entitled to see out his contract - just as I feel GT was ... BUT at years end LYON should assess what he has achieved or not and whether he feels that he can turn it around for 2009 (maybe he can with better more experienced as...

Lets resume this arguement when Lyon wins 14 of 22 games in a season like GT's team did in 2006 ... which according to you constitutes a slide from 2005 where GT's team was in 2005, when it won hmmm 14 of 22. Yep HUGE slide! Now lets talk about slides. How many games did we win in 2007? Injuries wer...

Jeff - Goodes was being picked up by Blake in the midfield but when he ran forward Fisher was covering him ... in the transition he often ended up on his own, then when Fisher went to the midfield after half time ... I think they went 1 on 1.

i am insulted that you found the tone of my first post insulting! ok so I think I understand now ... it is the players fault for not putting in enough effort and have some sort of mental block! OK so now that is all cleared up, I can go to bed. And just for the record ... the players in their prime ...
