Re: Practice Match Carlton v St.Kilda - Ikon Park, Thursday 24th February, 10:00AM
To me we looked like we were playing bruise free footy and not really that interested. Only a practice game but I'd like to see a step up against the Druggies otherwise red flags for mine. Still not seeing a change in game plan except bomb it long. No set up plays. We need to be smarter than that an...

Re: Howard
Our one glaring problem, if he goes down with an LTI with no clear replacement.
One of Highmore and Battle would become the main man and I can't see either subduing a Hawkins or Mackay very well.
Something we need to address next draft IMO.

Re: Herald Sun St Kilda 2022 preview: Season predictions for the Saints
Three wins three losses after the first six games would we be happy with that? Reckon we'd be a good chance against GWS and Freo, so 4 from 6 would be the start we'd be realistically looking for. Even Richmond we'd be a good chance, seeing it's at Marvel. I'm not sold Richmond will be as good as th...

Re: Welcome Oscar Adams
I like they got someone from NWM's old club. Will help both the young men settle in. Whoever our SA spotter is I hope we have him locked in for a long term contract. Wilkie and Highmore have been fantastic acquisitions. He/She obviously has an eye for hidden talent. Hopefully they've nailed it again...

Forget Hanners. The key will be keeping Jones and Gresh on the park this year. We get a ...

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Tigers have delisted Biggy with a promise to rookie him. Those pricks stole him from us so now would serve them right if we stole him back. Not sure they stole him off us, we picked Brynes 2 picks before Tigers picked Nyuon and judging it so far we picked correctly.. Byrnes will be a gun. J Steven ...

Ryder will be lucky to play 12 next season Stretch to see him still playing at 35yo Yep. We need to plan like Ryder won't be available most weeks. Really only home games where two Ruckman required and hopefully be fit for/if we make finals. He could come in like Keating did for the Lions back in th...

Re: Hunter Clark to Midfield???
Not fit enough Skilled enough, tough enough but not flint hard fit!!! If he were to transition to the midfield and take the next step and realise his potential as an inside/outside mid We would start making headway up the ladder. A fit Clark and an injury free season from Gresham and yes we are a g...

Re: The huge ? Ben King
If he wants to come, you take him. Yes there will be a massive price but we will then have a huge selling point to any potential FA out there. I think they'll use Bing as a swing KPP. He'll start back and only go forward as required. We will potentially have the best forward line in the comp over th...

From a fan perspective it seems like a very good appointment. Not too far removed form the game and he's coming from a high performing club. Was a very smart and effective player who appears who have good character. He may have been the only member of the Geelong flag era that I didn't hate. Agreed...

Re: Six Saints that surprised in 2021.
It always felt like Jimmy's ability and value was always judged by a narrow fan base through the prism of him being one of Richo's boy's. It was good to see him finally overcome his injury issues and get back to establishing himself as a bona fide top 10 player. Will he keep Paton out next year? No...

Re: Giving up Red Time goals
Would be intresting to see the stat on which teams give up the most red time goals. Reckon we'd be right up there. Been a problem for a while now to the point I almost expect a late goal now. It's infuriating, as it's costing games and it shouldn't happen with such regularity. It's needs to be addre...

Re: To be a contender
I reckon Gresham is little undervalued by Saints supporters. Opposition supporters and neutral commentators seem to rate him as a serious talent. I really hope he gets back on the trajectory he was on before injury - we have barely seen what he can do with dominant ruckmen feeding him, his evasion ...

Re: The Port Litmus Test
I'm very bullish about today. We have a better ruck combo and our midfield I think is fairly evenly matched. Our back six is playing better than their forward 6. They have lost some very attacking players in Rozee, Motlop and Dursma

Re: Team v power no change
Good outs for us. All attacking players. Their forward line was disfunctional last week and our back six are like a wall at the moment and now loosing the likes of Rozee and Motlop, they'll be feeling the pinch. We bring last week's effort and we'll win by 30+. Keeping them to a low score would be h...

Re: The new young guns keeping the saints in the hunt
Byrnes is tracking very nicely. Last two games has been very good in only a 11 game career. Has a bit of JSteven about him, breakaway pace and likes a goal. Great addition to a slow midfield. We may have finally drafted ourselves a couple of decent pure midfielders in Byrnes and Bytel.

Apparently young Max Heath played a blinder with the Sandy Dragons on the weekend.
Dominated the ruck and kicked a couple of sausage rolls.

Zac Jones and Paddy and the young fella Byrnes was really good I saw it slightly differently for my votes for the Eastern Memorial Saintsational Player of the Year awa...

Paton v JWeb
Think Webster played one of his best games for the club tonight. Was worried when Paton went out but JWeb has filled the spot nicely. His form has been pretty solid all year, along with others like Wood, DMac etc so begs the question where do we play them all next year with a fit squad? Its tough wh...

Re: Dunstan, Long and Dmac
Really liked Long forward as we were playing Geary. Defensive pressure excellent and could have snagged a few. Also as we know umps don't like him so I'd rather him giving free kick away in our F50 and not the opposition. Play Leo in Coffield role. DMac is such a great athlete. His effort is amazing...

Re: Dougal Howard
Howard the least of our problems. Our midfield is inept and has no defensive side and our forwards can't kick straight.
And we're still playing Lonie, Long and Dunstan who aren't up to it.
Lots of players down on confidence. Butler, Battle, Coffield are shadows of last year.
