Re: West block of Clarke v Baker on Farmer

Interesting note on this subject is the suggestion discussed "On the Couch" for the player who makes contact occasioning the removal of a player from the game to also be benched for the duration that the injured player is off the field. A form of the ARL and soccer send-off rule that woul...

Re-posting this again from a previous long-lost thread -- but it's relevant to saintsrus's question: I was watching X as he jogged along behind the play. (He might have been hurt a little in the previous passage.) He didn't see the guy coming -- just like Kosi! I reckon the Geelong player was as sur...

Hayes, Montagna, S Fisher, Schnieder.

Hold on, that's only four.

Did anyone see the incident in the third quarter with play on the outer wing and I think it was Gilbert running 10 metres behind Gamble on the other wing. Gamble stopped, turned and coathangered Gilbert, putting him on the ground. The emergency umpire went out to Gamble about half a minute later an...

But since we're telling all .... I'm 53 My first game was the '65 grand final -- my dad took me down to Melbourne (from Canb...

I watched him as best I could. But all I saw was very poor footy.
Raph, without the grace.
I'm sure he's capable of much better, and I hope he proves it.
But I would drop him instantly, and let him work up his form at Casey.

3 Ball

4 Rievoldt

5 S Fisher

Special mention: Clint Jones (did everything right, except kick properly).

To those of you who've voted for X and Harves -- love the sentiment, but seriously, a shocking game for both of them. Due to injury, I'm believing.

I like and admire Blake. He's courageous, he's loyal, he runs to space exceptionally well, he's a terrific mark, and he tries his guts out, every time. Unfortunately he is a klutz. This affects significant parts of his game -- handballing, tackling, decision making, etc etc etc. So he's a credit to ...

What's the relationship between this "official" vote site and the one called "VOTES" started on Friday night by LennyLeadsThe Way? I put my votes on that one -- perhaps by mistake. For what it's worth, they were 1 Ball, 2 Schnieder, 2 Hudghton, 4 Hayes, 5 SFisher , if you can sti...

Why are we arguing tactics versus effort as if only one is the real reason? To be a top contender you have to have both working together. The causes of a loss can be found maybe just in the tactics, or just in the effort, or in both combined. But the recipe for success requires both at the same time.

Just as we arrived at our front gate, gutted, these fireworks went off. They were unbelievably loud and magnificent. A very weird hollow experience watching them.

As far as role models go, Wayne obviously started off from a very, very low base.

If Goddard's in, then my guess is that it will be Geary who goes. It's either him or Raph or Gilbert -- I can't see anyone else at all being dropped. Neither of those three deserve to be dropped either, and Geary is perhaps the best of the three on form. But I think Gilbo and Raph are being expected...

I was just about to write the same as Brooksey's Babe -- it seems logical that Goddard will replace either Raph or Gilbert. I'd prefer all three in, but there are only 22 places!
I'm very keen to have Charlie Gardner in our forward line too. Same problem though. (Unless you drop Kosi on form.)

Fiora's pass to Gehrig at the 10 minute mark of the 3rd is one of the best massively long pin-point passes I've seen. His stab pass in the last was a ripper too. Plus mark of the week. Pretty good offering -- I'm happy to have him!

These thoughts make sense to me too.
What would happen if we just lobbed it long into the middle of any flood? Aren't our forwards capable of winning 55-60% of any contests? Wouldn't that be enough to win us the game? With less fuss. And less frustration?
