Re: Post Mortem
matched them in many ways .. they were kicking them out of their asses early, we were missing easy ones.. things fell their way including a bad call on the goal to Sinclair which was not touched, early injuries to Paton and Battle, the huge loss of Ryder and Carlisle in particular in the context of ...

Re: Changes for the Second Semi Final against Richmond Tigers
For the forced changes:
Webster for Long... would not lose anything there at all if Webster were at his best but it has been some time
Battle for Ryder... Marshall to ruck... sweating on Battles fitness
Roberton or Austin for Carlisle--- I really have no idea which one.

Re: Paddy's replacement
Hopefully Battle in for Paddy
The fade out in the last quarter has proven costly.. I recon if we maintained our lead, Hannas and Paddy would have been on the bench during the final minutes rather than Paddy being out on the ground

Re: Umpires
The Dogs were playing for frees. They were pulling the defenders arms down when they Saint defenders were spoiling drawing the too high free. It worked 3 times. They also pin the arm of the tackler drawing the holding the man. They sucked umps in time after time. The umps need to be better...someth...

Re: Umpires
Disgraceful umpiring, but the Dogs as a group play way to milk frees. Yes, are they coached to milk frees? Wallis is - probably has been since he was a pint sized junior - dives forward if he feels even the slightest touch in his back - too natural to not be well rehearsed. Yes Wallis played for fr...

Good to have 3 in the team and Paton and Battle also good players who were eligible.
Grab Caldwell and we have a very good group of 6 who will all improve again next year

Very well deserved 6th..no soft draws this year and we also have the 6th best percentage... So we are very deserving of 6th and not far from 5th

Re: Baffling selections costing us any chance
Darling kicked 2 goals one of those was on a lead that maybe Usain bolt could have spoiled, Kennedy kicked 1, maybe Carlisle would have spoiled the Oscar Alan mark on the goal liNe but on balance I can’t see Carlisle making that much difference on balance I thought the backline did pretty well. The ...

Getting smashed in the air.. why can 100 fans see that Carlisle should play this week but the selectors cannot?
mismatches with Paton on Kennedy, Coff on Darling etc have cost us badly

Re: Coaches' votes Round 16 v Hawks
WORK IN PROGRESS COMPLETED Wingard, Marshall and Ross can not all receive 5, one must have missed on 5 but two must have received 5. Four players must have received a 4 or 5. So that means Coffield got 4+0 That revises the top 4 Wingard 5+1 or 4+2 Marshall 5+0 or 4+1 Ross 5+0 or 4+1 Coffield 4+0 Bo...

Re: Why the saints passed on Petracca. Inside story
So we passed based on junk science. And we probably paid decent coin to the psych. Brought snake oil and we are suffering the consequences.
We would be in with a big shot at the flag even this year if we added Petracca to this team. Absolutely in it up to our eyeballs.

Re: Coaches' votes Round 12 v Bombers
Coffield and battle really becoming very very good.
Pretty sure we got them both plus Long in a trade for pick 10. Both coff and battle looking like top 10 quality right now whilst long is looking a solid second rounder

Who made comments about Battle overcoming injuries? It was weird. Has had a decent run with injuries. The other commentators did not know how to respond. Awkward silence.

Re: Dan Hannebery - call it
Surely someone has info on his contract? I mean, if it was front loaded and had trigger clauses, such as games played then it may be absolutely no problem! It makes a big difference if, instead of 800,00 fo the next three years, he were paid more the first two years when we could not even reach our ...

Re: Should we trade Snake Carlisle at the end of the year?
My answer is it depends what we are offered. If we could get a pick in the early 20's I would say yes. This is also dependent on Austin getting his body right and playing at least 10 games this year. If it works and we get pick 20, we take that and our first pick to the draft and grab one inside mi...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 5 2020
Betts, Casboult, McKay and McGovern, the Blues three main scorers, kicked a total of one goal and zero behinds between them. Yes, Paton had no trouble dealing with an aging Betts, Carlisle kept Casboult out of the game. Carlisle is a step up in class. Howard kept McKay out of it.. And Wilkie took a...
