Re: Players who can land a set shot

Tim Membrey also gets most shots that are expected to be kicked. It would be good to compare his stats. He has endured some wayward periods in his career, but also some "sharpshooter" periods.

Re: Women’s team

Also worth noting that Caitlin Greiser (spelling?) kicked the winning goal for Richmond today from about 40-45m out from the posts. The shot went through at 3/4 post height from that distance.

Re: SOD'S boy

I remember watching John O'Donnell play in 1968 (to the best of my recollection) against Hawthorn at Glenferrie oval and taking a few impressive marks. He had an excellent vertical leap and could take a good "speccie". I think his career ended with some sort of leg injury? Can anyone else ...

Re: Post Mortem

Has anybody heard why Battle was off the ground for 30+ minutes?? - Another contributing factor as he had been taking some intercept marks and added to out offence after he returned after half-time?? Was the cause due to the foot injury he was recovering from or something else? Maybe this was a fact...

Re: Mongrel Punt's preview for the Saints

thanks for sharing a very good review. My main concern for 2020 is where are the goals going to come from?? I was hoping for some commentary on Josh Battle returning to the forward line now with our excess of key defenders, with the return of many from injury, including Carlisle & Clavarino. Jos...

Ah! - Since it shows 5 cents as price for the programme it had to be after February 14, 1966!

Re: Practice match line up

If it was 1966 I was surprised that Daryl Griffiths (25) was not on the list? Can anyone advise what year he started or maybe he was just injured at the time of this practice match? Two of best midfield drop-kick exponents I always admired were the recently past Billy Barrott (Richmond & later S...

Re: Carlscum. I fecking hate them!!!

Thank You St. Trav of WA - You are correct -Malaria is not caused by a virus - see Wkipedia below: - Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease of humans and other animals caused by protists (a type of microorganism) of the genus Plasmodium. It begins with a bite from an infected female Anophele...

Re: Sippos and simpkin

Both these players are developing very well. Simpkin has shown courage and "hunger" to succeed. In his first few games I was concerned about his disposal as he turned it over a few times. I certainly can't remember him doing this in his more recent games so we look forward to his continuin...

Re: Gilbo and the Gold Coast coaches

I am hoping that the "ACADEMY" will start to address some of these skills issues for all players in the coming years and not just of the new recruits. Everyone can improve some aspect of their performance each year. It would make him a much more valuable player. He is a good overhead mark,...

Nobody has said Royce Hart so he's my first choice. I first saw him play in the 1966 Reserves Grand Final (which Richmond won, before we won the seniors!). He was head a nd shoulders the best on the ground that day and I thought he'd have to play in the seniors in 1967 (he did, and they won the GF)....

My observation of Dempsters goal kicking is that he can (& sometimes does) kick some very good long goals when he is on the run. However, hs set shots from a "gettable" range have a much lower probability of sailing through the "big ones". There are many AFL player in the &qu...

Try the Melbourne Football club web site for "package" tickets. I E-Mailed them yesterday and they said they have reserved a ticket for me after they contact me today.

Good Luck to all. It'd be nice to see some other Sainters at their breakfast function.
