Great man, used to drink at same pub as me and other then young blokes.always happy to chat but not a skerries of ego. When we went to Moorabin he teed up passes to then Former Players sanctum and intros, when we were known as Jim's guests they looked after U.S. So well because Jim was so fondly rem...

Re: Congested & Less Interesting
I haven't posted for a long time . I've been enjoying the Saints under Richardson, they are allowed to show a bit of flair. But games are awful now live, they are actually better on TV where you can see the close skills and quick thinking. I've been to two games in the past month, Saints v Dogs in M...

The Cleaner is from Longford, Tas. So is Richard Flanagan, who won the Booker Prize.
So is Team of the Century player Barry Lawrence. Get on.

I struggle to change anything about St Patrick's ( we've seen the same years) . Maybe I'd pop Fraser Gehrig in the back pocket in place of Jeff Dunne, but then again maybe Nathen Burke should get that spot .

1971 Grand Final
Is this wrong ? I wasn't QUITE as shattered by the loss as I should have been becasue my hero Barry Lawrence towelled up P Hudson when moved on him , and was BOG . It's a bit like pretending to be as upset as everyone else when the team you're playing in loses but you've played a ( rare ) blinder .

The HS did contain this howler from a Feral Supporter ( this is cut and paste , no alteration to spelling )

Umpires and Kosi
As we know, Kosi can be a great contested mark, a talent which has become more important as long kicks are used to get over a press. But he doesn't twist in the air or take the acrobatic mark - he comes in a straight line whether from the side or straight towards the incoming ball and launches on th...

Because, Dr Spaceman, she may not have wanted to take and publish pictures of herself having sex. Her aim was to get Nixon, not to humiliate herself . By the way I 've never seen a worse perfomance than Nixon's last night . Not one direct answer to any sticky question . An idiot trying to be clever ...

carscum loving ponce
I'd agree with you generally GrumpyOne but " ponce" isn't homophobic abuse . A ponce is a pimp, or a dandy and might be efeminate ( accoring to Macquarie ) , whereas I understand in England a " nonce " is a male homosexual or a kiddy fiddler ( and before you jump on me , I don't ...

Two really good posts this morning Joffaboy - too many posters heaping abuse on this poor damaged girl who is a tragedy about to happen, and too few getting the point back to Nixon's stupidy - not to mention his own responsibiity . Bloke who is still having a perm at his age - says it all.

I saw him play several times after his St Kilda career, in intra - State and State games in Tassie. Even if that was past his prime, he was still mesmerising , truly " dazzling ". Ross Lyon could do worse then to make every player on the list read Peter Lyons' book - they might learn 1. th...

Andrew McLeod has retired -http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/sport/andrew-mcleod-calls-time-on-decorated-career/story-e6frg7mf-1225908990073 He got a Norm Smith against us in the '97 Grand Final, but I could never hold that against him . A delight to watch was Mr McLeod , and never a dirty player...

Leigh Matthews on Saints/ Kosi
At the risk of returning to the topic, one of the commentators in the Essendon game made a good point , that Kosi appears to have a high centre of gravity and is easily pushed over. They specualted that he needed more strength in his thighs and quads. I'm sure the rest of the AFL has woken up to thi...

At last the point is emerging . The investigators claim they couldn't have prepared the brief better. Clearly they say that it was not compromised at all, whatever the pressure. But the DPP thought the case wasn't viable. Note that the DPP assesses it on the basis of a reasonable prospect of convict...

Meha Baba said "Ruckmen take a long time to develop: five years ago, Sandilands was a lumbering oaf whose height was his main strong point ". Too right - in the Sirengate game in 2006 Sandilands was comprehensively beaten by Blake in the ruck - centre bounce, boundary and around the ground...
