what has happened?
Don't think i am knocking anyone at the club, but what has happened to turn our season around? I don't know but whatever it is it is bloody awesome!

Blake
Jason Blake stand up and take a bow. Instrumental in turning it around. Use this as the benchmark tonight. What a win. What a weekend - Collingwood lose and we win - does not get much better.

Darryl Baldock
I was wondering if any Saints fans can help me with this one. I remember seeing old black and white film footage of the doc dodging and weaving against an opponent - he put the ball on the ground, did a dodge and the picked the ball up again and went on. I have looked at the stuff on you tube, but c...

The toughest saint and vfl player ever
I asked my dad who is 85 and has watched a hell of a lot of footy who was the toughest plater he has seen. He mentioned Lethal Leigh, Big Carl, but then he said Eric Guy was the toughest by far. Many others rated on this thread were cream puffs compared to Eric Guy. I grabbed my Talking footy book a...

who knows?
I can't figure it out, and unless you are in the inner sanctum at the Saints, you're probably only guessing too. One thing I do know, is that it is useless having a side peak too early, and I would rather win the last 10 games than the first. St Kilda are a mystery, and I guess we will just have to ...

Weak
Mark Harvey you are weak. That sort of comment would have been something that was learnt from Kevin Sheedy. Typical Essendon tactic. Just imagine if we said something about an Essendon first gamer - they would be screaming like stuck pigs. Oh, where is Steven Baker when we need him.

Who is accountable?
It does not matter one iota who you think should be dropped. Many on this forum are holding Ross Lyon to be accountable for the teams performance, and rightly so. But, if you think the coach is the person who is solely accountable for the teams performance, then don't you dare question his decisions...

good call by the coach
Dal was bloody pathetic last week. Milne was hopeless. It is about time we palyed some youngsters. The question will be is just how deep they will cut into the list at the end of the year. I could see 10 - 15 gone on current form. Sport can be exhilarating. It can be cruel and unfair. But there is n...

Will not work!
There is no way StKilda or any other club will successfully relocate to the Gold Coast. The Brisbane Bears were a flop and you need to understand that Queenslanders are more interested in Rugby League and Rugby Union than any other sport. One of the main reasons that the Swans were able to survive i...

Speed and strength are key attributes to look for, as well as a bit of mongrel. I liked Heath Black because he did not take a backward step on anyone.

Riewoldt and free kicks
Please excuse me if I have missed something, but footy news can be a bit sparse on the south coast of NSW. Has something happened, or has other coaches been whingeing about NR receiving free kicks? Not that it would have made any difference, he was well and truly mugged last night and I think may ha...

last nights game
I went to the game last night. Apart from about a ten minute period in the third quarter when some of our players had a bit of a go it was one of the most inciped performances that I have witnessed by the Saints. Everything looked very hard. Even when the ball did get to Roo he was smashed. Why is t...

my observations
I was at the game last night. After it was all over, my observations were as follows. We were very disjointed, nothing flowed, and everything looked like hard work. Gardiner was very good in the ruck, hit outs hit our players, but it was all downhill from there. No structure in the forward line, Roo...

Well what do you expect - not really a solid coaching credential amongst the lot of them. No wonder we are in the state we are in. Thank you Robert Walls.

A little family history
My Dad used to be a Collingwood supporter. Yes, it's true and I hate to admit it but there is a skeleton in every family closet. After World War 2, Dad was lucky enough to get a job at the Junction Oval on the gate between the football club social club and general admittance. Every match day the Pre...

Plugger 66
I don't live in Melbourne. The last live game I watched was early on when we beat Carlton albeit unconvincingly. I will get my chance this weekend coming as a guest of a good mate who is a Swans member. I will be flying the flag in the middle of the Swans Members stand, so I will see for myself how ...

Dogging it
Here's a different theory....no I know I will probably get shot for this, but here goes...... Has anyone ever had the thought that some of our players are dogging it because they actually want out. How best to get traded - stuff up so badly the club moves you on. Comments please faithfull supporters

Mr Magic
Thanks Mr Magic, still have a tear in my eye. I remember seeing a video of a very sick TB being helped from the stands at Moorabbin. Very very sad.
If you want to motivate the team, put on the TB highlight tape. Guts, courage, loyalty and selflessness.

The Great Trevor Barker
I grew up in East Bentleigh but moved to NSW in 1986. I remember Dad telling me how crook TB was and then in Sydney his sad passing even made the news. I have a question, that someone may be able to answer. Did TB coach Sandringham and the St Kilda reserves? I am not sure on this. I have always held...

An old saying
It is not how many free kicks you get in a game, but where you get them. Obviously a free kick in the forward 50 that give opportunity to score a goal is worth more. I think that some teams get a dream run with free kicks in the forward 50 and others get virtually nothing. I consider that over the y...
